Hi,

I've read alot of posts on replacing the factory DRL bulbs for a brighter look, but I haven't found and info on the PIAA 3157's.

Has anyone tried these? I'm looking for a look for my DRL's that compliment the silverstar headlight bulbs I have.

Thanks http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I have them and think they are great... They will probably have a bit more 'blue' tone to them than the silverstar, but they very bright and would compliment the silverstar very nicely in my opinion

Hey NJ,

Where would I get a bulb to match for my headlights?? Mine are still stock and they are definitely not the blue hue that the DRLs now are. Would you recommend the PIA headlight or something else?? Thanks

I bought a set of PIAA's for my Manik Grill Guard mounted fogs and they are extremely white and bright. Off the top of my head I don't know what type they are or even if they make it to fit our headlights but I will check Friday and let you know. I can tell you that they are very very bright. As a matter of fact I feel real bad for the people in front of me when they are on! Well ... not real bad! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Do you see a big difference going to the SILVERSTAR headlights and did anyone find anything that can be used in the DRL's that compliment the Silverstars. Any assistance will be appreciated!

The silverstars are WAY brighter and whiter than the stock yellowish bulbs. I haven't received my PIAA's for the DRL's yet. I'll let you know.

PS, good luck with your ECM!!!

Got my PIAA's yesterday in the mail and installed them in the DRL's the bulbs have a blue tint to them which can be seen when the lights are off when they are on they are a bright white looks real good will now have to get the extreme white PIAA's for the head lights to keep a match. Stock bulbs are close but i want to try to match it all up.

COOL, Fireman Jay http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I'm glad they are bright. I should have mine any day now. Have you tried the Silverstar bulbs? They are quite bright and white, alot better than the stock bulbs.

When you guys are using for example, the PIAA's, are you replacing the entire foglamp assy or does PIAA sell replacement bulbs?

I'm assuming since some of you are using Silverstars, you're just replacing the bulbs???

Thanks,

Mark

PIA makes replacement bulbs for the DRL.. You do not have to replace the entire assembly, only the bulb. Once this is done, you will notice a huge difference between your stock headlights and the new PIA DRL bulbs.. That is why some have suggested using the Silverstar headlights. Another option is to purchase the PIA replacement headlight bulbs for an almost exact match with the PIA DRL bulbs.

Received and Installed my PIAA 3157's yesterday for the DRL's. WAAAAY brighter. They look awesome compared to the dull OEM bulbs.
Now I'll just have to see how long they last!

I've been running the Silverstar bulbs for a while, it's a close match. When the Silverstar's burn out, I'll try those 9007's!
