I asked my dealer today and they told me that the marker light issues was almost fixed. Funny, they've been telling me that for a month!

Does anyone work for Hummer and have true answer? I want those marker lights in a bad way but not if there are ongoing issues.

If your dealer knows what they are doing, they'll be able to install them without the noise.

The fix should "officially" be in by the end of the month.

how did they fix it?, is it a new design or did they just add silicone or foam liner?

Don't know what the fix was. I've had my H3 for about 2 months. I ordered the lights with it, but they were on quanratine. I'm in the Navy in Pascagoula, MS so I had to drive to Mobile, AL to get them installed. No noise at all.

Howdy Shipmate!

I had to fix it myself because I just can't stand the noise when I drive 60+ mph...

I called the idiot parts department at Bellevue Hummer and they said that only the H2 had the roof marker lights but the H3 had the roof mounted off road light only. IDIOTS!

So I contacted the salesperson who said that the roof lights were still on quarantine!

I know I can buy the roof lights on line but I want the local Hummer dealer to sell them to me and install them for warranty purchases. Normally I would not go this route but since the lights are controversial, I want a warranty.

- I agree,
when I called the dealer (Hummer of Sacramento) and told them about the marker lights noise but seems like they don't know nothing about a fix and the noise huh!, so I had to fix it myself and forget going to the dealer. I don't know maybe I was the only one complained about it.

</div></BLOCKQUOTE> I got mine installed Friday (my H3 was already in the shop because the battery went dead and I had to be towed for the 3rd time) The dealer said they installed the "new" roof marker lights as well, that it was redesigned. They said there is a layer of foam on the front edge underside and the anchors mount a little different. Since they had it for the previous 9 days I can't remember if this looks like a better fit than the old one or not. What I can say is that at highway speeds, it is no better than the time they put some foam tape under the lip; so pretty disappointing! I am going to ask to ride in a non-clearance light H3 to compare because it has been so long, I don't recall what good is anymore.

Has anyone confirmed whether or not the marker lights are supposed to have their own on/off switch in the dash, like the off-road lamps, or are they supposed to be wired in with the regular lights, i.e. come on when the other lights come on?

Got mine installed about a week ago and the lights didn't have a switch. They wired them in with the other lights.

They would be wired to the rest of your marker lights, they would not need a switch, they are not offroad lights. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Nothing more than additional lights to the marker lights on the sides, and front/rear of your vehicle. To give it that H2 look http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Thanks partsguy. As referenced in this bulletin, do you have the official Service Bulletin that reflects the resolution as it relates to customers who already have the marker lights installed?

Thanks. Yeah, I've had it at the dealer a couple times for "correction" already, but wanted to make sure they have official GM correction methodology before I go back over again.

This whole issue is way outa control. If the dealers were not so paranoid about CSI and
looked outside the box for a fix Gm would have
(like it the past)caught up to the problem and
used the dealers fix, nation wide.
Everyone is afraid of finger pointing.
My dealer had it solved after the first complaint.Way wait for GM?
