I am right on the verge of having it done in my '05 SUV. The device from PAC was not released until just the last week or so. Now that it's is out I am having the back-up cam integrated into the Nav and the iPod hooked into the existing system so that it will work with the steering wheel controls.

If you'd use the "find" button you'd be able to locate all kinds of neat things.

Like THIS (http://elcova.com/groupee/forums?a=search&s=2826088551&reqWords=ipod).

Put mine in about a month ago. Works pretty good.

Haven't had any real problems with it.

H@-NY-1, did you use the PAC unit? Will yours work with the steering wheel controls? If hard mounted where did you put the iPod?

Yes I used the PAC unit. Pain in the A** to install but works good. I have the Nav system and it works sweet.

The ones that hook to the cd changer port are good – I would never run an fm modulator unless I lived in a really rule area.

I was looking at the neo.
How hard was the install?
Did you have to pull out the radio?

I'm also interested in any experience with the Neo.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Is there anything out there that will display the Song information on the head unit (for the factory unit)??

I know that Alpine's aftermarket units will now do this...

yeah, would be nice if there was a unit/upgrade for the '05 TS NAV to plug in any sort of MP3 player and get touchscreen capability/steering wheel that you get w/ XM/CD/Radio...

I guess I'm asking too much from the factory units...

I was thinking of getting a Portable Media Center to sync with my Media Center PC so I can have all my music from my house in my car...( harddrives are small in these things though...only like 20GB )

would be nice if they made a Portable Media Center w/ WIFI so when I pulled my H2 up to my house it automatically sync'd my home media center w/ my car's personal media center http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif then all I would need is an FM transmitter to play it over the radio.

I'm also looking into the Aux-Pod from PAC, but they told me the steering wheel controls wouldn't work if I also used their AAI-GM12.

Has anybody else with a XM radio touch screen nav. used an Ipod that works off your steering wheel controls and had their dvd audio work as well.

Thanks,
Sean

Hi, I have been reading (lurking) here for a while and just bought an 05 Lux H2 and I love it. I have been following the discussion on the H2 and the iPod and wanted to know if the PAC unit or the mp3yourcar unit works WITH the 05 Nav (touchscreen) system and charges the iPod. Can I have the Nav system working and still hear iPod music?

OH sorry I forgot WIFI laptop rolling down street in certain areas or no conection at all still something to do. LOL
Kind of makes Me wish I was a cowboy back in 1800's. I SAID KINDA.
I would have to give up my H2.

That will happen when they pull the keys and the guns from my cold dead fingers. Glock 23 internal laser 40 S@W federal hydro shock 4 clips in truck, Licensed to carry concealed. Mini 14 Combat set up, flash suppresesor, bandelera with 8 30 round clips not counting the one already locked in. Ruger 300 Win MAG flash suppresor, longest kill 600 yards at My farm across rice field. Daughter with me. Several shotguns and 22's and misc. weapons. Just mentioned this as there is someone on here that would get a kick out of it as he knows what I'm taking about. So not meant to be but, it may be for private or small audience. LOL
But serious when it comes to self preservaton.
Rick

Basically you plug it into the back of the radio. It was really easy to install and my friend over at best buy said they charge around $30 to do it if you don’t want to get your hands dirty. The sound quality is cd like and it also charges the iPod. I think they might sell one that displays text along with the one I have. Really good company to do business with IMO www.mp3yourcar.com (http://www.mp3yourcar.com)

I have the iPod hard wired in with the PAC unit and integrated the back up cam to the touchsreen. Both work great. The iPod charges while in the truck and the only minor glitch has been the volume difference between XM and everything else. The XM volume is about 4 clicks lower when you switch to it. PAC says they will have a fix for that soon. Frankly its probably not worth fixing since its not a big deal. BTW everything works off the steering wheel controls.

Got to agree with Rick. Tull made a comment about some unit only have a 20gb hard drive. I've got just under 2 gigs of encoded mp3 on my home pc. Stuff I like to listen to not every song from every cd I own, anyway it takes 28 hours to listen to it all from start to finish.
So my question is where in the hell are you driving to that you'd have time to listen to 20 or 40 gigs worth of music? I guess we have these things because we can but when is enough, enough? Rock on folks and enjoy your toys.
Love the support for just about any issue concering the H2 keep up the great work folks.
