I have discussed this with another member recently. He just installed a set of "high flow" cats and loves the sound. He also says the truck performs better.
I am still investigating. A question has arisen. Maybe someone out here knows more. Stock cats are OBD and 400 cells per sq in. Aftermarket performance cats are the same. I was told, point blank by a muffler shop and performance shop, that H2's have "high-flow cats" as a stock item. And new ones would do no good unless there was a problem with the stock items.
Any assistance in this matter would be appreciated.
KenP,
I don't know about the stock cats but XtremeFlow offers weld on high flow cats on their website. Last time I looked they were $269 for the pair. Obviously, they claim the requisite HP and MPG increase but I don't have any experience with them so... caveat emptor!

I am looking to replace the headers also and looking for input. These are the first FULL length headers I have come across, all others are shorties. Cats are an option and it appears no welding is required.

I have the SS XtremeFlow cat back and love the sound and increased perf however XtremeFlow claims better MPG and I haven't noticed any MPG increase what so ever.
