See link to full story. A very positive review.
". . . Now that General Motors Corp. has been thoroughly trashed for single-handedly destroying the planet with the Hummer H2 — whose impressive engineering has been lost in the shouting — it’s time for the born-again downsized Hummer H3.
By the looks of it, most people won’t even be able to tell the difference between the two Hummers (and there’s no knowing if that’s a good thing or bad thing), so maybe the H3 should have special graphics and words emblazoned across the side that say: THIS HUMMER CAN GET 20 MILES PER GALLON! . . ."

Nice find Tiger!
Likes: Engine, transmission, seats, off-road ability, secure feeling in the cabin, price
Dislikes: Very few storage crannies for tampons and empty beer cans http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Bottom line: A real Hummer that gets 20 mpg for less than $30,000

Yeah, it's funny. I have had several people approach me to ask me a question and the first thing everyone asks is: "What kind of gas mileage does that thing get?"
Well except for the redneck that said: "What kind of motor does that there thing got?" That is a direct quote!!

I once had a redneck mechanic tell me it is a motor and not an engine. Thought I had him believing he was wrong until he looked at me and said, "ya'll work for General Motors, not General Engines." With that reply, I order another round and laughed my arse off.
Back on subject, I have a friend who drives a RAM 1500 with some humongous engine in it and it is rated at 9 mpg city. He has never had anyone say a thing about his fuel mileage.

That is what I thought it looked like too.
Not surprising that a reviewer who understands 4x4's gave a very strong positive to the H3. I'm sick of H3 reviews by supposed automotive writers who judge everything relative to powder-puffs SUVs that wouldn't last a quarter mile on trails the H3 won't even break a sweat on.
