I just saw this and thought it might be some cheap protection for the rear. Anybody used anything similar on a Hummer or other offroad vehicle before? Was is worth it?

It's been my personal experience that if your vehicle has a rear mounted spare, that's what gets hit,not the bumper.I've had a Rav4,Jeep Wrangler, and now the H3.All three were hit in the rear and all three were hit on the spare tire never on the bumper.

So far no one has hit my rear bumper guard. We have alot of knuckleheads at work. When I took my spare off It kinda looked like a target back there, but thats not the reason I bought it. Seeing the pic, I just though it looked cool so I got it. Its well built and looks alot better in person than in a pic. Ill probably get tired of it someday and mount it on our Late Model stock car on cheaters nite for s--ts and giggles. Ive had alot of peeps ask me Whats that ?? So I tell em its a beer bottle opener. It might have to come off when I get my new exhaust anyways. Oh great,,,now all I can think about is a cold and gold one,,, gotta go :-)

hey stars, you taken that thing on any aggressive trails? Just wondering what it has done to your departure angles, if anything. It looks like you'd be dragging it alot on the trail.

Yea I can plant a row of corn with it the way it plows into the hill on steep stuff. Had it trout fishin last month and did some pretty good tests with it. It really didnt do much other than kinda dig in to dirt but in a rock climb it WILL probably catch. I dont do alot of harsh wheelin so Im not to worried about it. I can pull it off in 10 minutes. Oh yea,, caught my limit,,4 Rainbows and 1 nice Brown !!!
