Not that i'm a fan of the evil empire (microsoft), but I noticed this on some news pages today. Seems to be something between a PDA and a laptop. Looks pretty cool if they ever release it...

MS Origami Project - right click and save (http://www.pdamexico.net/abe/videos/msorigami.mpg)

Cheesy commercial and the thing needs some type of built-in keyboard IMO. If it had that, I could see where it would be useful.

That would defeat the purpose sort of. Besides they did show one guy using a keyboard. I know anything about this product, but there's the implication that this thing is highly connected via bluetooth and other wireless technologies. So my guess is that any portable bluetooth keyboard will work with the thing.

The Nokia 770's been doing that for months before Origami came out. And it runs Linux too!

I was looking at the Nokia 770 last week but most likely won't get one due to running Linux. Does anyone know of software that would allow me to sync to the 770 with Outlook like I do on Windows Mobile? Downloading the video right now so will check out the Origami.

Very cool, I think that might just be the solution I was looking for.

Thanks

No prob. Also:

www.maemo.org (http://www.maemo.org)

Inside their wiki is a page of downloadable programs. All you have to do is download it using the built in browser and it self installs the program.

I like the Motorcycle that the runner had!
Is that a Buell?

I would want a virtual keyboard on this cool toy!

1 GHz Transmeta, 30GB HD, 512MB RAM, Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth®, USB 2.0, FireWire®, audio, thumb keyboard, 800x480 indoor/outdoor readable LCD / Tablet digitizer -- in just 4.9"x3.4"x.9" x 14oz (including 3 hours battery) package

(It's so small, you can see the barrel distortion from having to go closeup with the camera.. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif)

Ken,

Can I have one? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Actually nevermind. I hear guys with big Hummers and tiny computers have big balls and small peckers.

You can have one when you're at the airport or flying 10 hours every week for 2 months... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

And actually, you've got it backwards -- if big Hummer is to compensate for tiny weiners, tiny computer is because I have a HUGE... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Doc, if you're gonna get one, get it now, when you're young enough that your eyesight hasn't failed you yet... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

$2,100 for it??? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif It is very nice, but that's kinda expensive! I might see if my company will buy me one for "testing" purposes. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
