I love those tires. Aired down to 18 psi, and they were great. I have a little rubbing on full-lock left turns.
Still at it later this morning. Yesterday, it was dry and dusty. Today, is all mud: http://www.weather.com/weather/local/USPA0698?from=search_city

H1 Winching Rubi forward from the rear.
Wrangler and Rubi got stuck on numerous, for them, impassible obstacles. They were then winched through by an H1 and OldHiker's H2. 3rd Jeep in group turned around and had to be winched out by Larson through a creek. H1 and stock H2 went right on through with no winching.

I can't recall the name (more likely Ipe, MatureHiker, Larson, or Joe will know) but it was a Blue 3 trail. On another trail, I had to winch myself off a stump on my DS rockrail on top of a steep ascent down into a muddy embankment into a creek (I was trying to avoid the off-camber drop the first two guys did - H1 & H3 - so I went a little too far to the left and high centered on the stump). OldHiker used his winch for the 1st time in its 2-year life - 3 times, but all on other vehicles. He no get stuck. He just go. We went on a lot of fairly challenging trails. I learned more from the veterans, including non-forum-member H1-Scott, about wheeling the H2 than I thought possible in two days. At the end of the 2nd day, I went over obstacles without needing a spotter that I could have barely been persuaded to try at the beginning of the first day even with a spotter. Ipe, OldHiker, Larson, Joe, and Scott always had the right answers for difficult spots. Before Friday morn, I had never actually done the BTM thing. Now, it's second nature. The whole thing was a blast, inclding the all-you-can eat crablegs, prime rib, clams, etc. at the place we went to on Friday night.
The trail the jeeps got stuck on was Laurel coming out of Rocky Meadow. Actually its a newly cut Laurel since the old one was closed down along with the pipeline. Something about an exposed pipelining rupturing http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Did someone say they never used a winch at Paragon? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Most of the pics I've posted were taken in the morning of the first day on Wampum. I don't think that any of us had ever been on Wampum except for Scott.
Let me tell you now, it was a great trail. Tecnical, and esentially a rock garden from end to end. The big boulder that the Larsons are climbing up on in the pics above is basically the one thing of the two days that I did not want to try.
This cliff at the end is a pure vertical drop of about 2.5 to 3 feet
http://ipedog.smugmug.com/photos/65955940-L.jpg
The H1 and H2 can come down off of it onto the trailer hitch w/o issues. The way the H3's rear end is set up, it would have come off the tires, onto the leaf springs and then into the muffler. Didn't seem like a good idea to me. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
I guess that the others agreed with me as only Scott and the Larsons did it. She was making a ruckus here too! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

One great thing about Mrs. Larson: Although she vocalized her anxieties, there was no place she was going to be when hubby went over the big obstacles except right there in the H2.

It was awesome. Several thing made it better for me than I could have hoped:
* One dry, dusty day - one day of driving in the 37 degree monsoon;
* Awesome spotting by Ipedog, OldHiker, Nmikes, Joe, Scott, and Larson;
* Scott's detailed knowledge of the trials, where to go, and when to go there.
* Extremely good company; and
* All you can eat prime rib, crab legs, good booze, etc on Friday night.

Can't recall the name. Someone else may know. Scott was a regular there. It's on the other side of Paragon from Hazleton. I asked the waitress what kind of decent wine they had. She said, "well, we have some white, and I think something red." Right before I aborted and ordered something else, the owner brought out a really nice Italian Chianti.

Not sure if he's talking about his vehicle there.
That reminds me: by lunch on the first day, OldHiker's red aftermarket skid plate, which had been installed improperly by someone else, had lost the bolts on the rear and was hanging down. Larson swooped in an offered some extra bolts and they made it functional in no time.
Pops: Did you get it reinstalled correctly yet with the plate mounts on top of the cage mounts?

Is that BigFoot hiding behind that tree?
BTW: That's the stump on my driver's side I caught on my rocker - mostly because I tried to go down at grandma-like speed - i.e., 0.00001 mph. I should have hit it a little coming over the ledge. Or maybe subconsciously, I wanted to use my winch.

Yeah, it was weird. That giant magic gnome kept appearing out of nowhere and leading me through difficult obstacles with his philosophical and spiritual reflections on the concepts of brake-throttle modulation, gear selection, and tire placement. Then, on Sunday morning, he just rode off to the horizon.

It was awesome. Several thing made it better for me than I could have hoped:
* One dry, dusty day - one day of driving in the 37 degree monsoon;
* Awesome spotting by Ipedog, OldHiker, Nmikes, Joe, Scott, and Larson;
* Scott's detailed knowledge of the trials, where to go, and when to go there.
* Extremely good company; and
* All you can eat prime rib, crab legs, good booze, etc on Friday night. I just care about the food. Where was that? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
</div></BLOCKQUOTE>
The Restaurant is called Oak Creek. It is located about 6 miles West of PAP on Rt 924.

Based on your knowledge of the restaurant name and your forum name, I figured that you were the magic spotting, trail-guiding gnome.

Based on our discussion this weekend, you might find this dabate about the tie rods interesting (even though it only involves those puny H2s). It begins about here: http://elcova.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/5106011751/m/1771084871/p/27

Trail Damage Report:
Reallignment showed that camber and caster were within spec, but toe was off on the front wheels 0.10 & 0.15 degrees.
The big gash I made on the front right side of my skid plate (during one of my fancier high-speed maneuvers) was causing a little click on the control arm during left turns. Smashed it back mostly into shape, and now it's fine.
Great Pics MH! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
