If the 17.9 refers to the height of the wheel http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gifand I'm assuming it does, then it won't work. I'm thinking the 17.9 is actually an 18" wheel.

I have never heard of any rim being 17.9. Also, they don't make a 37x13.50 terra grappler...you would have to get the mud grappler for that size tire.

If the wheels are 17x9 then yes the 37x13.50 mud grapplers will fit.

Backspacing is really important when going with new tires (i.e. larger/wider). You better do your homework.

I thought 13.50 wide tires require a 10" wide wheel.

You thought correct. Check tire manufacturer specs for rim width. To small and premature tire wear will occur.

A good 4 wheel drive shop, or even tire shop, should be able to set you straight on this.

Toyo MT Tires 37 x 13.5 x 17

I have 17x10 centerlines with 4.5 backspacing on a 37x13.5 Mud Grappler. Rub a tiny bit on passenger side front. If I were to do it again, I would go with something just a touch smaller to avoid the rub.

I have 20x10 with 4.5 backspacing American Racing Mojaves with 37x13.50 Open Country M/T. They rubbed pretty bad at first but after a few turns of the torsion bars, no problems. And, no ride or handling problems at all. I cannot notice a difference in ride whatsoever.
