Update to prior post.

>After almost 10 weeks, 5 visits, dozen's of calls to the dealer, the Hummer National customer service and advise from this forum, the service department finally admits the leak is comming from the differential!

>After being assured that the leak was from the differential vent plug (no oil near the plug), then the oil filter(located in the rear), and that there is no leak...

>Now they said that they have to order an entire assemble (knuckle/shaft/yoke/seal)?

Has anyone else had this repaired in this manner.
thanks in advance,
troy

I have not read your pryer post , but I think I know what your talking about. the seal to the shaft on the left front of the front axle? it leaks all the time and leaves oil on the bottom of the front axle?
I haven't looked but I'll bet its the same axle they were using for the other 3/4 & 1 tons. there is a stamped steel plate that bolts on to the side and its got the seal mounted in the face. I have seen 2 things... grass getting wrapped around the shaft getting pulled into the seal. and I have seen the plate installed off center. it takes some doing since the bolts are holding its position. hope you get it handled.
