So I moved house and all the moving trucks pretty much trashed my lawn (they promised to repair it). The move went on all day and all night, and in the morning the auto sprinkler went on, and by the time we figured how to kill it, the middle of the lawn looked like a mud bath, and the last truck was pretty much stuck.

Here's some pictures of my H2 rescuing the HUGE truck out (my wife said she couldn't step back far enough to get the entire truck in the photo)...

Please give her some time to settle in. I gotta say though, the amazing sunsets I get in this new home is extremely complimentary to her amazing beauty... Watching her watching the sunset together never fails to take my breath away and bring tears to my eyes http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Soon my gentle friends...

Spike, I don't think we should interfere with others perception of beauty (if my mover guys are what turn them on, who are we to pass judgment? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif)

On the fuel door, they are trying to find out why I have not received it yet. It would be very dissapointing if they screw up, since its sold out.

Spike, got the fuel door. Looks GREAT! Very happy with it, esp compared before & after. Easy to install, but the locking gas cap doesn't come with a tether, so I'm using stock, until can buy the tether.

Sorry abt the reflected greenery -- very highly reflective chroming!

Apparently this "coral tree" would inadvertantly crack & drop branches for no reason. Man, when that big branch first split, the *CRACK!* sounded just like a gunshot! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

The branches were crashing (slow-mo, loudly-popping, rustling -- real weird) over the old retaining wall where there's a 10' drop to my neighbor's lawn below.

So I called the HERO http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif back to duty, and with some strap, dragged those branches over to my side of the wall, and just waited for the branch to break more until the leaves dragged on the lawn & stopped moving:

I see you put the side steps on for balance and extra pulling power.http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

H2F, when we moved in we did not have any trouble with the movers. Well... They did drive up a 5 day old concrete driveway. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif They did buy new concrete. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif They did leave stuff in the wrong rooms. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Nevermind... Now I am upset again... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

LOL! We moved 6 months ago, still have some boxes unopenned! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

The guys actually working were told they only have 1 day to unload. So they literally work 24 hours -- complete with LOUD *BEEP - BEEP* reversing trucks at 3 AM! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif Not surprised to get some nasty letter from 1 of my 8 new neighbors (who never owned up http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif).

Did you wait long for your new concrete? It took about 3 months before we finally get their check for the repairs, after my sweet wife mentioned something abt "INS" to the owner... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. She was just playin poker though -- she won't do that -- those guys worked hard, and ate well! (We own restaurants after all... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif).

Not too bad. What was most irritating is the builder was right there. He walked up to the truck and told the driver what could happen. The driver said not to worry about it. Right, right...

Now we have a crack in the sidewalk leading to the front door. It is right next to the driveway where the rearend was. You know it was caused by that truck. I am going to have to work on them some more http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif.

Now since you asked about the driveway, get this: The pool company has done a great job, but they sub out their concrete work. When the guys came to grade for the walk they used a small Bobcat. Yep, destroyed the end of the driveway. And they crushed a very well marked sprinkler head http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif.

Another driveway fix, thank you very much. We have only been here since May 5th and have had two driveway repairs, one cut phone line, one cut cable line, terrible gas company tie in, one phone and one cable line still not buried, trash from nearby construction in the yard, blocked driveway, blocked mailbox, and a bunch of foreigners looking at my girl with very devilish eyes. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

And none of this is the builder's fault. I wish I could blame one person... Well, I guess it could be my fault. NAW... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif Just new neighborhood blues. It will all be over soon enough. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

If only the new home building experience went smoothly without all of the side issues. I would never have had to take that medication. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Hang in there, we've been here for 3 years and I'm still battling with the builder & cabinet guy. The builder bailed on the warranty & left me with a ****ty driveway and a bunch of interior touch-up crap. Lawsuit pending. And the cabinet guy almost finished his work but never came back. Lawsuits won, but now he's not paying. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Contractors suck.
