I can feel slight tapping in the steering wheel when I make a gentle turn at about 30 MPH, is this a normal thing with the H2?
Not long ago I got a warning from the driver information system "service 4wd" and my dealership picked it up and repaired whatever was wrong with the 4wd, I mentioned about the tapping and they said they would look at it (it still taps). I would take it back, but it's a 2 hour drive for me. Has anyone had this "tapping" experience with their H2, and if so were you able to find out the source and a cure for it?
Thanks,
Tim

I just had my front differential replaced a couple of weeks ago. The dealer said it was defective. I didn't have any tapping but had a large leak. I could see how a dry differential could give you a tapping sensation as the you make a turn if the tire is hopping.

My truck had a tap also....

The service department replaced the stearing pump.

The front diff was repleced due to a hairline crack on the top side.

Be sure to get this repaired before something bad happens to your family.

if a leaky diff is the problem... and it is dry.. then it wont be long until that baby locks up..

I certainly have never heard of that...

questions:

how sharp of a turn are you taking?
same with right and left?
what happens at slower or faster speeds?

I wouldn't mess around... There have been a couple of reports of front wheels coming loose and falling off of H2s. That'll ruin your whole day!

Get that thing to a shop right away! You might even go so far as to ask the dealership to bring out a flatbed tow truck for it.

Unaslob,
I notice the tapping most at slight turns, same left or right and mostly at city street speeds (30-40 mph). The tapping rate does not increase with the rate of speed. Let me know what you think.
If I didn't want to take it back to the dealership do you think a front end shop might be able to tell if it's a serious problem (loosing a front wheel would really screw up a weekend!)
Thanks,
Tim
