How come every body on this forum is afraid to talk about what things cost. I asked I guy what he paid for remoavable side steps > his reply "exspensive", I ahve been asking people about their lease payments for 3 months > no answers? If we all gather and use the information we help to control the cost, if we just keep quite then nobody benifits, except the feeding sharks, each time some gets a good deal that gives us the chance to also get one. Try to control the feeding frenzy http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

f5fstop, glad you have the cash for a toy, but this is my primary vehicle, I look at it like this, first year out model > things will improve, do not have the cash to use on a depriciating commodity, in three years if paid cash or financed it what could I sell it for, it works out the same > the money I spend on the lease is the same money lost on the purchase, just less becuase it will depend on how long I keep it >L after 5 years what will it be worth > the same so it realy is even money 555.00 for 36 months = $19980.00 if I pay out the $37000.00 for it today and want to sell it in three years what will I get for it 15000.00 the 18000.00 I still lost the 20000.00 thats even money for me, still spent the 20000.00 so why put out the money. My money can do better else where > but thats just my opinion, and we all KNOW OPINIONS ARE LIKE *******S EVERY BODY HAS ONE. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

OK so how much did you pay in cash? And in regard to people keeping things private your Income, and house, and what ever should be private but the price of a car, please its just transportation. Just read the paper and you can have an Idea about any lease price, give me a brake. There is only so low that a dealer will go even if you are his brother inlaw.

Many people do not like to discuss that they pay or what their montly lease payments are for two reasons. One, they are private; two, they don't want to be known to have the highest lease payment. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

As for what I paid, not sure if it will do you any good, since I got GM employee pricing on the vehicle.

$32895 Base vehicle (MSRP $37,510.00)
595 shipping
700 front brush guard
100 mud flaps
50 rear compartment net
$34340.00
2060 Taxes (have to keep our Governor happy)
25 (or 35 transfer plates and title fees
$36425.

White H3, Luxury Package, Off-Road Suspension Package, Chrome Appearance Package, Power Sunroof, Engine Block Heater, XM Satellite Radio, ETR AM/FM Stereo w/CD MP3, Trailering Equipment (hitch, wiring and plug) - Dealer added Front Brush Guard, Mudflaps and rear net.

And to upset everyone here, I just found out today I can get discounts on all the accessories too. Approx. 20-25 percent off dealer list. So it won't be long before the rocker protectors and assist steps are added. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Good luck on getting an inexpensive lease. I know the rates for loans and leases were pretty high in this area, and that is one reason why I decided to pay cash. You're right on the depreciation, but the lease companies will figure that out in the lease too. For me, I plan on keeping this vehicle up until I retire in 3-4 years, then purchase a new one and head out to my land in Utah and hide.
