Ok so I am seriously thinking about relocating. The question is where is the coolest place to live. I've lived in small town Oregon for 15 years. The simple pleasures of small town rural life is good I just want opportunity to live a more exciting life. I'm divorced going on 6 years and am single again. I would like to meet some new lifetime friends and have dating options. I'm educated, intelligent and would love to make a little more money but who wouldn't. Give me some imput. I like to do just about anything.

Well if you like to golf, Pinehurst, NC is a nice place. It's supposedly the "golf capital of the world". I work in Pinehurst and live about 30 mins away. I don't play golf, but I am actually going to be moving to Pinehurst toward the end of this year just to cut down on the daily commute. Oh and it is the home to the 2005 US Open...hehe I should be a salesman the way I am selling this place. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Virginia Beach. Live near the beach, lots of hot women, easy drive to the mountains, lots biz opportunities, all four seasons. You can live in the southern Pungo/Blackwater section of the city where it's very rural, in the much faster paced northern sections, or somewhere in the middle.

Heck, we moved 30 minutes from there and are moving back. And for the future the city has fantastic schools. Oh, the golf is awesome.

Coolest place? Have you noticed that every suggestion was from someone in that area of the country.

Well, I'm going to buck that trend.

The Coolest Place? how about Antarctica?
I hear it is very cool, this time of year (or any time of any year).

There are only simple pleasures in the simple towns there (if any pleasures at all).
Exciting?! you haven't lived until you've stumbled between a mother polar bear and her cub! (and then you don't live at all).
Lifetime friends?! You bet! Just hope that your life is longer than theirs.
Dating options? of course! all the options, men, woman (yes that was singular) or shemales.
Make more money? Absolutely! They'll pay plenty for anybody who'll go.

And since you like to do anything, well, being there you'll probably, eventually do EVERYTHING (at least twice).

And besides, who needs another insurance salesman.

LOL! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ChuckE, your post needs lots of --> http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif just so everyone catches the joke...

South Bay in Southern California is awesome. Never too hot (like Las Vegas), never too cold (like East Coast), not only beautiful women, but plenty of actresses and actress-to-be http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

Golfing? Donald's Trump International is opening next month...

The only thing is housing expense, which is ridiculous. But if you're single, can get a studio literally steps from the beach for $1500-$2000/month.

Small town feel, yet 30 minutes from downtown L.A. Best of all? No one will give you flak for driving a Hummer.

Well, all that MAY be true, but you won't hear it from me. We have too many people here now.

DON'T COME HERE! We have earthquakes, floods, mudslides, fags, tornadoes, plagues, naked women! This is surely Armageddon. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Honestly, Oregon is great besides we are slowly turning into California when it comes to politics and by-laws. The reason I have been here as long as I have is because of the scenery and many options for hobbies and entertainment. I suppose I just get fed up with the small town attitude and lack of open minds to make it a better place aquaintance wise. The crime is low in my area but I just can't seem to meet any new cool people that are into the same things I am. With that said I'll probably die here lol unless opportunities knock or a great woman comes along...

Hey gonegolfing, have you checked out that new OHV park near you in Heppner? I'm thinking about taking a day trip down there to check it out, just wanted to know if you've heard anything?

I kinda like the east side of washington here. the only complaint would be the occasional wind storm... Coming from the bay area, it's definately much more peaceful http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Rush hour is a hoot!

Hey, we have this guy. I've met him several times and he's pretty cool. The happiest guy in America. Heck, since this was from USA Today, they must not have realized how conservative he is. He even ran the local party for awhile. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
http://www.usaweekend.com/03_issues/030309/030309happiestman.html

The happiest guy

He scored off the chart on every objective measurement we tested. Yet the emerging science of contentment suggests practical ways Gus Godsey -- and anyone reading this article -- could be even happier...

I don't blame you at all! Oregon is turning into California. I've lived here 14 years, and I'm considering moving back to Idaho.

Why don't you get your current job to relocate you? Bandon, OR on the southern Oregon coast, has some world class golf! Coos Bay is near-by. Don't move to a big city, it can be even harder to meet new friends.

I wanna go to the new OHV park too doc! Why don't we all meet up? We'll get you good and drunk and relocate you ourselves! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

No I haven't heard a thing about that park in Heppner. I'll have to ask around about it. The only rumor I've heard is the Nascar track they want to put in at Bordman. That would Rock. BTW I love the tri-cities area also. I use to visit 2 or 3 times a month. The wind is anoying but hey you got to give a little to get a lot.

I'm so up for the meeting up thing that would be cool. And I'm with you on Idaho. I use to live in Northern Idaho years ago. Kinda white trash but the scenery and water is beautiful.
Let me know on the park thing.

I'll get a pm started later in April and we'll set up a date. I emailed the park and they responded with enthusiasm.

Get over there and check it out!

Have you ever thought of moving to Boise?
