I AM ASKING THIS FORUM TO HELP ME GET THE WORD OUT ON THIS EVENT. It is near Pittsburg but we already have people coming from NYC, MD, and AK.
If you want to attend, please contact me directly and I will reserve you a spot.

If you know of club forums or websites that I can post this event on, please let me know.

I will post this in the event section on this site once a formal flyer is available.

Presented by DIRT MotorSports and HGW.

Location: Lernerville Speedway, Sarver, PA
Dates: August 12-13, 2005
Event Coordinator: John Schumacher, JAS@hummersgonewild.com

Schedule of Activities:

The local press, the Speed Channel and Ultimate Hummers magazine will cover this entire event. There is no guarantee that the Speed Channel will air parts of this event however it is likely that highlights will be aired.

The event is broken into two days. Day one will include an opportunity for Hummers Owners to give back to the community by escorting a child onto the race track.

Day two will be specifically for the Hummer Owners themselves in order to show their stuff. A show and shine plus a competitive race on dirt will be the focus.

OUTLINE:

Friday August 12:

On Site Registration will be from 2 PM to 4 PM at Lernersville Speedway.

4 PM: Convoy of all participating Hummers through town via a route designated by Track Officials. A police escort has been requested but not yet confirmed. When the Hummers arrive back at the track, they will be parked together in a designated area.

All Participants will receive a free ticket to the Race as part of their attendance at this event.

4 PM to 8PM: Hummers owners mix with race fans gathered around their Vehicles. It is requested that each Hummer Owner invite a fan or two to join them on the track inside their Hummer later in the evening. Local schools and scout troops will be notified of the event.

This is intended to give children an opportunity to ride in a Hummer on a racetrack. Few fans, if ever, get an opportunity to actually be on the racetrack, much less in a Hummer.

8 PM +/- All Hummers will be guided onto the racetrack. The Hummers will form a single line on the outside of the oval track and park prior to the start of the main race feature. Hummer Drivers and their passengers will be asked to get out of their vehicles for a photo opportunity and to greet the fans in the stands while the drivers prepare for the feature race.

Depending on time restraints, a few WoO drivers may bring their cars out onto the track on the inside of the oval as a preview for the children inside the Hummers and for the fans in the stands

Just Prior to the start of the feature race, the Hummers will exit the track in a single line and regroup back at the designated Hummer Area.

A reception will be hosted by a designated Hummer dealer or by HGW.

Saturday August 13:

Fans from Friday night will be invited to attend the Saturday event schedule.

10 AM to 10:30 AM: Hummers arrive and will be divided into classes for a show and shine. This event is judged and HGW/Ultimate Hummers will provide awards for the winners. This will finish around noon. A steak cookout will be provided for lunch.

12 PM to ?: Any Hummer participant who desires will be able to race their Hummer on the oval racetrack—three laps: one practice lap and two timed Laps. The fastest of the two laps will be recorded. This is not an off-road event of the tradtional kind, but a chance to see how you perform for time in dirt! Hummers will be on the track one at a time for safety reasons.

At the end of the time trials, the fastest Hummer will receive an award from DMS and HGW.

The event will end with a small award ceremony for the fastest racing Hummer and the winners of the show and shine.

Sign up forms, liability waivers, entry qualifications, show and shine judging criteria and will be forthcoming.

A number of Hummers dealers have indicated that they will participate in this event.

IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THIS IS NOT-NOT-NOT A SALES EVENT! NO PRODUCT WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE DISPLAYED (OTHER THAN WHAT EXISTS ON YOUR MACHINE) OR SOLD ON THE PROPERTY BY ANY PARTICPATING HUMMER OWNER, PARTS SUPPLIER, OR VENDOR.

HUMMER DEALERS WHO CHOSE TO BRING VEHICLES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO CONDUCT SALES PRESENTATIONS OR TRANSACT BUSINESS ON THE PROPERTY. I want people to have fun without sales pressure!

Cost of the event will be $100.00 for the Hummer and the driver, $30.00 for each passenger. This cost will cover reception, the Saturday lunch and the cost of safety personnel for the Hummer racing.

Great idea John. Like I told You at Our meeting In Princeton I am in for this. My crew is working everyday adding stuff out on the edge to My Mall Queen.
I keep getting calls everyday about someone being a sponsor on My rig. It is a little over whelming as each say that they heard about Me from other people, vendor dealer guys who I have bought things from and told them what We are doing. I just picked Up a major tuning software company Yesterday that blew Me away. It will be so tricked out it will surprise people. We are adding serious power to win or bust the time races. I told My guys We are going to have the power even if I waste an engine. I hate loosing.
We have gotten a local short dirt track owner to agree to let Me practice handling the H2 in short track and dirt.
We bought an inclosed trailer to tow it to the show. I really like how You have done it by having different Div. I mean it would not be fair for a stock Hummer to be in the same class as Me.
Thanks John for coming Up with such a great idea. I think this should be an annual National Championship as I mentioned to You.
Oh and My crew will most likely go to help You with details or fixing things or just overall security. they are very excited about going to it. We have notified a group that puts on one of the biggest shows in Arkansas that since there date conflicts We will not be at their show. They are looking at changing the date. So We are commited to help You make this a natioanl annual priemer event.
Great Job John

Rick:

I know you are one who LOVES to compete and win!

I am glad you are going to join the group.

For others on here, keep in mind that the rest of the event is really designed to show off your machine and to get some exposure on TV and magazines. Most importantly, I feel that putting a kid or two in your Hummer and making the kid happy at the track is the best part of this event. Every time I have done this in the past, it makes me feel good because as you know kids love Hummers and rarely get a chance to get inside on of them.

I can up with idea of timed laps because a Hummer's capablity to run in clay/mud for speed has never been tested in a group (and how many people are willing to lend you a racetrack for a day?). It will be fun to see how fast these machines will go around a track.

Racing is optional.
