View Full Version : 3 things Hummer should consider changing on the H3
bparker

1. relocated the license plate holder as it gets ripped off when you climb a cliff.
2. relocate the freggin window switches to where the door handle is so they are not at your elbow. and put the door handle where the switches were. simple... only pigmy people can reach them without getting all bent out of shape =)
3. put a bowl in front of the shifting assembly similar to an ashtray so you can put the crap in your pockets there like a cell phone, sun glasses, can of skoal, pocket change etc..
Hummer, if you are reading this - trust me these are things that will improve the daily pleasures of owning and driving an H3.

I would like to see them make the back window to open or even as a power window.

Ya I would have to put that in the "cool to have" category as its not a must have like the 3 above mentioned. just my two cents. definetly a cool thought though.

Bump to the back window. It really does need to open.

How about a swing away tire carrier since we're making a wish list. than you could be able to clean back there too.
As for that little cup holder idea: I like it, although I'm using that area for flush mount switches for all 6 sets of lights. (only 3 switches though).
Six SETS of lights. That's like... like... 12 lights. Did Musco (http://www.musco.com/) help with the install? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
It would have been cool if they had the window controls mounted to where the mirror control is on the handle. I just want to make funny "firing" sounds when I grab that and put my thumb on it. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Damn it bparker, that's my sig. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

How about fitting trailer hitches to all H3s from tha factory?
Failing that, being able to upgrade the damn thing without needing a new bumper http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
That's the dumbest design decision on the whole truck.

Another Bump to the power rear window. Currently my 4Runner has this and my dog loves it, its a great way to air out the cabin, and to deal with long items. When I get my H3 this is the item I think I'll miss the most.
Moving the window controls would be a good idea as well. When I test drove I thought this placement was really awkward.

What is strange is the fact they are using two different bumpers. A trailer hitch bumper without a trailer hitch would not look that bad, and would cut costs. Right now, GM has to have two unique bumpers shipped for assembly, as well as carry two unique bumpers in GM parts for replacement.
I can see why they cut out the center of the bumper to decrease any loss in angle of departure.

Seat Heaters on the non-Lux cloth seats would be nice. Winters are cold in New England.

How about an overhead console?
Would be nice to have a place to store my sunglasses. Standard feature on a Grand Cherokee, and not even available on the H3.
I'm searching e-bay for one that might work, looks like one out of a vehicle with a flat ceiling would probably do.
Anyone have any ideas or experience with this?

Power rear window would be great.
Climate control will be missed.
Tailgate opening up would be nice but not with the spare under the vehicle. Would loose to much clearance and probably departure angle that way.
A pair of Vincent's safety air bags for each seat would make it a great seller too! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I had black leather in a Vette Coupe in TN, and never had a problem. My big butt never sweated and it wasn't that hot getting in and out. Then again, I also owned a Jeep with vinyl interior, and in the sun on a hot day, I could fry a leg on that interior.
