View Full Version : How many have extended warranties?

I'm right at the 60K mile mark. Since I put the liftkit on my H2, I've replaced a frt diff and transfer case. (one caused by improper installation, the other a defect)

Now recently, my sunroof needs to be replaced.
Point is, seems everytime I have to replace something, it's at least a grand.

I can buy a bumper to bumper extended warranty that buys me an add'l 54K miles and 48 months for 1900. (no deductible)

I'm seriously thinking of purchasing this warranty because I can see that it'll pay for itself probably the first time I use it.

Opinions?

Thanks,

Mark

Who is that through? Have you looked into Warranties4Wheels?

http://warranties4wheels.com/w4wmainhtml.htm

They quoted me $2400 for 7 years, 120K on the odometer.

See my other post, I'm trying to see if anyone has went through the claims process.

Thanks Dan. I sent a quote request in. I'll see what happens.

personally, I wouldn't buy chicken sh!t from warranties for wheels. He's a broker and they couldn't answer my questions about covering electronic items. Basically wiring and electronics is not covered OR they could not cover them the way the policy reads.

The policy read way too vague, especially if you wheel.

I just got an email from someone who has used them for a seat module. 100% covered, no problems.

I had an extended on a previous vehicle and they were awful, so I'm very wary of these independent companies. Still looking into things....

I believe it was something like $1800. It was figured into the price of the truck as it was certified used.

Hello Dan,

Your vehicle qualifies for two types of coverage,
Premium and Luxury. I have attached the
explanation of coverage to this e-mail. We have
also recently introduced wear and tear
coverage. I will give you pricing both with and
without the wear and tear coverage. With our
policies the term you purchase does not start
until your factory warranty expires, so which
ever contract you purchase will add the mileage
and time on once your factory warranty expires. I
have attached a copy of our application to this
e-mail, if you print this out the second page is
the reverse side of our contract that explains
all of our coverages. Pricing is as follows:

Your H 2 is eligible for coverage under our
Premium Warranty which is exclusionary coverage,
similar to the manufacturer’s warranty.

4 years/ 48,000 miles $5,120 without wear and tear - $5,888 with wear and tear
5 years/ 60,000 miles $6,460 without wear and
tear - $7,429 with wear and tear.

I bought the extended warranty on my H-2 from GM and it was around $1900 for seven years/ 100,000 miles. Bumper to Bumper. Always have been very happy with my dealers service. In my opion, and you know what they say about those, Factory extended warranties are the only way to go!

Dan,

I looked at your post. Those prices are ridiculous. I've been checking out several, several different warranty companies and I found one company that covers almost everything for 2800 bucks (no deductible) I mean, it covers literally EVERYTHING. 48 months or 50K miles.

It seems that most are around the 1900-2000 mark but they are not all-inclusive. They don't carry the stuff I'm looking for (window switches, ac control panels, sunroofs, power antennas, remote key systems, etc, etc)

You may want to shop around.

Mark
