For some reason, GM redesigned the control arms. I'm not sure whether or not it is a good thing. If you look at the drawings, it looks like the new control arm loses the cross brace, but the arm appears thicker.

At least it shows that GM is looking at the front end and making changes. Hopefully, they will work on the tie rods soon!

Hi,

To my untrained eye, it appears that the new lower control arm will strengthen the strut to compressive forces and not change its unsprung weight significantly.

It looks like it still has the mounts for the cross brace though. Unless those are mounts for something else and the original brace was part of the casting. Not too sure...
