I just had the Eclipse AVN5435 installed today with Sirius and a back up camera . I need help with 2 problems.
1 The backup camera will not come on automatically when I go into reverse.[ it is set in auto ]. it works fine when I put it on manually. I don't what to have to turn the camera on everytime I need it.
2 The On Star has real loud static when using the phone.
Any ideas Thanks.

I also have the 5435 with Sirius, rear camera, and changer; and the OnStar/Door chimes modules. The rear camera issue has to do with them tapping into wiring and the braking system. Make sure they know what they are doing. My installer didn't and it caused an ABS Failure warning that Hummer had to clear at a cost. I also experienced the static you speak of. My dealer used electronic filtering to solve this. I am not sure if this was the correct thing to do, but I can tell you that it worked and the OnStar sounds OEM. Oh, and Hummer says I should have had them install it??

OK, now if you could help me. How does your Sirius sound? Do you have the Monsoon System? My Sirius sounds as if you are listing to it via a tin can and string! When I play CDs, DVDs, and the radio, it sounds great! It's just the darn Sirius! Eclipse says it is the Sirius module that they make not being up to snuff. Sirius says it is a wiring issue, and my dealer says that it is an OEM amp issue and I should replace the amp and speakers to fix it (WTF). I have scheduled a phone conference with Eclipse, Sirius and my dealer for next week hoping to get to the bottom of this. Your feedback would greatly be appreciated.

On an up note, the Nav on the 5435 is GREAT! I have used it many time to get too and from CA from NV. I also really like the controls of the unit. Now, if only I can get everything working together!

Let me know what you find...

I had an AVIC-N1 installed using the PAC OnStar/Door Chime modules and I'm having the same issues with static when using OnStar. My installer is going to try to sort it out tommorrow.

Pleas let me know how you make out. I will pass the info onto my installer. I believe the installer has given up on both my problems. Let me quote him if I can find out how to solve the problem let him know.

I had the same onstar issues... My installer fixed it by adding 2 line filters to both front speakers.

I still get an initial "pop" when connecting and hanging up onstar but I can live with that.
