I knew they were out there but in our H2's..Oh man what will be next... Cameras in the bathrooms......oh wait there are already people doing that......Anyway, a buddy of mine was in a wreck in his H2 about a month ago, unfortunately he was speeding when it happened but you could not tell cause it was wet and the ground/dirt area was slippery. Short of the long story the attorney for the other driver said they had valuable info which was taken from the "LITTLE BLACK BOX" in his H2.... Needless to say they settled and he had to buy a new H2, his was totaled....But no one was hurt.....Kinda of interesting they are watching everything now, internet, phones, satellites.....They are everywhere...hahahaha....
Has anyone else had this experience with the little black box????

I hate to be the critic, and I'm sure that there is more that I don't understand about the incident, but I can't imagine what kind of info could be "taken" from the computer that would to add up to much, other than a real-time video recording of the event, which is certainly not available through any "black box" on the H2.

Here's the problem. How many times have you read that someone was found at fault for an accident just because they were "speeding"? Nevermind that someone pulled out or turned in front of them!

I can see it now... Your black box recorded you were running 50 in a 45. We find you at fault for hitting the vehicle that pulled out in front of you.

I posted this info somewhere else on the forum.. BUt shoot I'm getting old and that was this morning ( Think under Nav. system)

related to this subject. A friend of ours has a NAV system in his new Mercedes.. He intentionally took 8 wrong turns,. Next thing he knows a voice comes over the speakers " Judge K. are you alright" They said they where concerned since he had taken 8 wrong turns,. and during the conversation verifed taht they could tell him everywhere that vec has been since purchased. how fast etc etc and they can hear everything that is said in his car if they so choose..

IN theory.. that may be true.. I just receieved my new Hypertech III for the H2.. In the instructions it says to pull the On star fuse. Because ON star communicated with your truck on a random basis. and if they attempt communication while reprograming.. it could interrupt the process..

Also, I believe the Nav. system for the Mercedes is also connected with the On star system ( no facts just theory)..

So I would say they do have a link to you when ever they want too.. It still takes a court order to allow LE to tape in, unless of course it has been decided that you are a national security risk.

HAHAHAHA another funny comedian.... Seems as if I have offended someone with my collection of autos... Oh well it happens...

If you must know Paul, those are the items in my life that I have worked hard for... I am proud of what I have and what I will have in the future... I know that you are picking at me and if you are being serious then we have other issues.

Bill Janklow R-SD

AP story mentioned near the end of its report on yesterdays' testimony that Janklow was traveling between 63 and 64 mph at the time of his accident. This information was gleened from "an electronic sensing device in the car".

Have you guys ever heard of Echelon or Tempest? They're alot worse than some black box.

KenP

Since the ACLU is against Echelon, I am for it http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The ACLU admins this site:

http://www.echelonwatch.org/

the Free Congress Foundation, the Electronic Privacy Information Center,
Cyber-Rights and Cyber-Liberties (UK) and the Omega Foundation.

Echelon is perhaps the most powerful intelligence gathering organization in the world. Several credible reports suggest that this global electronic communications surveillance system presents an extreme threat to the privacy of people all over the world. According to these reports, ECHELON attempts to capture staggering volumes of satellite, microwave, cellular and fiber-optic traffic, including communications to and from North America. This vast quantity of voice and data communications are then processed through sophisticated filtering technologies.

This massive surveillance system apparently operates with little oversight. Moreover, the agencies that purportedly run ECHELON have provided few details as to the legal guidelines for the project. Because of this, there is no way of knowing if ECHELON is being used illegally to spy on private citizens.

This site is designed to encourage public discussion of this potential threat to civil liberties, and to urge the governments of the world to protect our rights.

Here is the Unofficial Tempest Site
http://www.eskimo.com/~joelm/tempest.html

Since I do not break the law and do not harbor ill feelings towards our country or government I have no problems here. I became very interested in this stuff after reading Puzzle Palace in Junior High, which is mentioned on the Tempest site. Though it has been some time since I have researched this stuff.

SHOW ME THE PICTURES, prove it. We like to see Hummer wreck, just H2, H1 doesn't count. I collect these pictures.

If the Big Brother wants to watch you, he will watch you whenever and wherever he wants, he doesn't need any black box. Auto black box is just a new technology, 50% of the chance it might help you if you are the victim in an accident.

Last night we had a dinner party at home. This woman guest insisted that 9/11 was a conspiracy done by the high officials of the US government and the Jews, oil, blah blah blah. She thought she is so smart and everyone else is ignorant, kept on saying: "You should read this, you should read that." I am a bit tired of all these conspiracies without logic, especially since the couple had such a great time telling the fantasies, they stayed way past midnight to educate this poor polite host. I was as blunt and direct while as polite as I could, but I don't think she was listening at all.

Mac,
Your guest theory on 9-11 is of course....retarded. However please tell us about her fantasies? That part I wanted to hear. Does it require a warm blanket, and a 1/2 a dozen pickled duck eggs, and a mongolian priest? I am just curious

MAC

Big, all her fantasies are the usual leftover leftwing conspiracies, I think I heard most of them before. From 9/11 carried out by the Jews and our own government, British Royals killed Princess Di, oil, W Bush is stupid, etc... I am not really into political debates, been there done that. She was invited to this dinner party tonight at a friend's house but could not come, I am glad I didn't have to go through the same mess again tonight.

I've met a few people who think Israel or our own Gov't was behind 9-11....when asked to substantiate their theory, they couldn't offer a single shred of evidence or even some reasoning....yet they adamantly insist on it.

It amazes me how people believe something they read.....

Mac, you should have told her that 9/11 wasn't perpetrated by our government, just our shadow government and high ranking members of the Illuminati, the Boy Scouts and the major COs of Starbucks.

Oh, and by the way, I shouldn't have told you that. Forget I said that. And please post your reaql names and addresses to that my cabal of henchmen can keep a better eye on you.

That info is just what you can pull with any dealer's diagnostic equipment. GM has their own equipment, and you can't begin to imagine what they can retrieve. Think of what the mass public knows a PC can do, compared to what someone who designs the things can do with them.
