I've noticed lots of discussion about the DVD package being offered on the new H2 and H3 but nobody seems to know much about it. Let me answer some of the questions.
The package they installed on my H3 included two headrest 7" DVD players. Each has its own DVD slot that load from the top. They can each play their own disc, or both play the same, or each one can play either disc in each player. It comes with two wireless headphones or the sound can be played through the stereo using the modulators built into each player. Nice remote control included and all the same features as your home DVD player. Inputs and outputs so you can attach a game console, TV tuner, video camera, or whatever. They will also play audio CDs so your kids can listen to whatever kids listen to without bothering the other passengers. A really clean installation, they just replace the headrests, run a couple of wires through the seat and install a junction box (don't know where it is). Here's some pics:

Anyway, its a pretty nice setup for a great price, some dealers are even giving them away, I wasn't that fortunate but $499 was cheap enough. Hope this helps answer some of the questions from previous threads on this topic.

I think a better question is:
WTH is hanging in the windshield in pic 2?

It's a Weed Eater. Or a totally misshapen appendage from the torture victim hanging upside down from the garage ceiling.

The DVD system was installed by the dealer in about an hour. Like I said before, they just replace your original headrests and do a little wiring.
The weedwacker took about five minutes to install on the wall. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

When you buy a new Hummer, the price is now $299 -- GM gave more incentives...

WOW! $299.00 for that price anyone not getting one is a idiot.Even if you dont need or want it.I would pay double that if they would do it.Than tap in a visor monitor for the front and hook up rear camera.

Just called Sherman Oaks Hummer and asked about those of us who already have an H3 and they said nope. You have to purchase a new Hummer and then the special applies. So I asked what type of deals on accessories you would offer us they said nothing. Tha sucks I was allready to take the truck down to get my DVD system. Ba Humbug.

No dealer is going to give current owners the DVD deal. It's only for new purchases. I bought my latest H2 on 11/12, but because the offer started on 11/15, I did not qualify. I even called HUMMER and complained since I was so close plus it's my fourth HUMMER in two years, but the answer was still no. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Yep. You should be able to go back to your dealer and have them complete the right paperwork. My understanding is that they get a rebate from Hummer. It should cost you $499 after the rebate.

I would think so, the promo runs until Jan 3rd 06. Call your sales guy up. I think the deal was the Lux model on the H2, not sure if its the same on the H3. I remember seeing a dealer here in California that was putting them on all units as an incentive.
