When I traded in our H2 a couple of weeks ago I coudln't believe how much grief I got from my kids! I think I even got a frown from the newborn! The 9 seater Yukon XL works great for our big family but one trip up the cabin last week and I miss the beast.
A friend of mine is a GM at a local Toyota dealership. We were talking cars after service today and he mentioned that the owner was selling his H2 through the dealership. The LUX has only has 17K miles on it and it's bone stock except Alcoa's. They're asking $42K but what do you think a "good" deal would be? He told me that I would get a substantial discount given our friendship but then, business is business.
The last time I bought an H2 I let me emotions get in the way and ended up with a terrible experience. I won't let that happen again but I will say, life without a H2 is pretty damn boring. I bought a front end Denali kit from GM for my Yukon and put on 22" wheels to make myself feel better but, well...you know.
Otay, what number should I be thinking to make the deal? I'm thinking $38K considering the mileage. There aren't too many H2 up in the Seattle area so they are still getting a premium.
