There was a tread on this but I can't seem to find it.
Someone even had pics of a double-din head unit that they were using with the Alpine Nav unit.
Can anyone help?

I may stop by to have a talk with him if I can't find what I'm looking for by then.

Here are a fw pictures of my Alpine NAV. I used a Rosen/Necvox double din head unit and a SAVV rear view mirror CAM for NAV and HCAM.
If I had to do it again I would keep the stock head unit and just get the Alpine NAV and use it with just the SAVV mirror since it has a built in speaker.

OK guys, I've done some research and this is what I'm thinking of. I really like alpine because of the interface option that's available for the steering wheel controls. I already have the alpine nve-n852a nav with the alpine cva-1003 head unit in the slot where the onstar was located. I will replace the cva-1003 with the cda-9855 and use the tme-m770 in the double-din slot of the factory radio. I plan to use all alpine as the theme for my system. Speakers and amps included.
This is what I will start with...
Alpine CDA-9855 (head unit)
PAC SWI-ALP(steering wheel control interface)
Alpine NVE-N852A (nav unit)
TME-M770 (6.5" touchscreen in double-din slot)
Next, I will add...
TUA-T020XM (xm tuner)
KCA-420i (iPod adapter)
SWX-1242D (12" subwoofer)
MRD-M605 (amp for sub)
SPX-177R (front door component speakers)
SPX-17MB (rear door speakers)
This is subject to change as I experiment...will take pics when project is finished.
