After reading the info on jumping the drl relay I did it. It took 5 minutes...GREAT!

The only thing I have noticed is that the headlights will not come on in daylight. Even when turning the switch to "ON" position they will only come on if I cover the photo cell.
Is this a result of the modification, or something else.
I would greatly appreciate any help.
Thanks
I have been a "lurker" on this board for quite some time. Great stuff!

I haven't had that problem, and I ran the jumper last year. I have DRL's and perimiter lights all the time, parking and perimiter lights only in the parking light setting, and all of the above plus headlamps in the headlight on setting.

Just got around to doing the DRL jump and I could kick myself for not doing it sooner! It is awesome!! Cheapest mod to date. Having the ability to use just drl's or all at the same time is so cool.

Kevin:

Now you just have to replace the cheap H2 DRL's with a real fixture/light! The '03 Lincoln Navigator fog light is a great fit and provides the light that the cheap H2 DRL doesn't. Check out threads of mine and PhilD, on the replacement.

I agree with Ric and Phil about replacing the stock DRL fixtures, but I am taking a different route than they. I have ordered the Cibie kit from Hummer Solutions (http://www.hummersolutions.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=HSC&Product_Code=HSC-0305-CIFCLR&Category_Code=L100) that should make a nice change to the DRL situation. The folks at Hummer Solutions have answered my many questions concerning this and the winch setup they offer with the most detailed answers (and they actually answered my questions).

That's a good solution as well, Paragon!

Enjoy!

I would also suggest looking into the 100W halogens to make them even brighter!...about $5-6 per light.
