Has anyone installed the off-road lamps (as opposed to the orange marker lamps)? I'm intersted in any wind noise associated with them.

I happen to really like the look of these over the traditional marker lamps.

Once you get up past 60mph, there is an incremental amount of wind noise added by the off-road lamps. It is not insufferable, though. I just turn up the radio.

That's what the AUTO VOL (Automatic Volume)is for:
With automatic
volume, the audio system adjusts automatically to make
up for road and wind noise as you drive.
Set the volume at the desired level. Press this button to
select LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH. Each higher setting
will allow for more volume compensation at faster
vehicle speeds. Then as you drive, automatic volume
increases the volume, as necessary, to overcome noise
at any speed. The volume level should always sound
the same to you as you drive. NONE will appear on the
display if the radio cannot determine the vehicle
speed. To turn automatic volume off, press this button
until AVOL OFF appears on the display.

BTW I have them, just havn't installed them yet.

Nice looking rig WannabeH3.

WPBGuy67, I enjoyed the auto volume feature right up until I swapped the head unit for someting that would play mp3's.

These days, installing a factory head unit that doesn't play mp3's right out of the box, is just wrong.

I just cannot decide whether to mount them or not. The drilling is the part that really turns me away from it. Maybe I'll place mine on Ebay if I decide against it. But I'll wait until there are more H3s in Germany to achieve a reasonable price on Ebay. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
