I went and got the truck done up today. I needed to get the seat memory update, and also was looking to get my new mirrors. My drivers side vibrates at speeds of 55+.
Well they needed to look at the mirrors first I guess - you know before they were ordered. So I drove up there 2.5 hours to get the mirrors on and that didn't happen. Now I have to wait 10 days for the mirrors to come in. Hey, whatever, they still work, just vibrate. So I am ok with that, just the extra driving sucks when I don't need to do it...but I will be going back in like 10 days. I tried to get them to take some off the lot, but no. I also asked if I could have them shipped to me, and I would send them mine old ones...nope. They cannot do that either. OK, it is policy, no big deal, I understand that.
On a happy note they updated my seat memory. They told me to not put my seat back all the way and program the "get out" in that location. Move it just a tad fwd, then program it. I personally have the "get out" programmed to be the same as my seating memory 1. I think that works best for me.
It was good to know all the TSBs when I went there...they were looking at me like "what the hell did you come here for, sounds like you can do it yourself" LOL
While i was there I had them change the oil with Mobil 1 (again) and that made me happy, but I have been doing it less than $83.+ ...oh well, at least they lubed all the goodies below too. (no wise comments)
oh yea, when it was done, I hopped into the truck to leave and my foot went to the floor, and the break made a hissing sound. I was like...that is weird. So I pumped it a few times and it was fine. To be sure I took a loop through the lot, and yea - it was ok. Anyone ever seen that before? I didn't think they would touch the brakes.
There was a desert sand SUV there from NY, it must have been towed there for something, because it left on a roll off flatbed. They had some nice 18" wheels on it. Also the hummer rack and lamps, It looked pretty slick!!
They said they liked my POWDER COATED GUN METAL WHEELS btw! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I told them I painted them, and they were like - "wow, at first we thought it was factory, but we said - they didn't do that factory...so we thought you powder coated them!" so that made me feel warm and fuzzy! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
On the way home is was snowing like MAD! It was pretty fun! But after I rolled my Tacoma, I tend to take it easy on the public roads in the snow.
