View Full Version : Any risks in changing the door handles?
I ordered blacked out door handles for my becoming H2 (arriving in only weeks or so) and I'd like to hear from somebody with experience that what risks there are related in the process of changing the door handles. I'll have the GM mechanic to do the job, but I saw the post (actually using the find function) related to this issue and more less it seemed that changing the door handles is not a trivial job. Just like to know what to expect before I go on and have it done...
Thanks!

It's not a technical job that requires great skill but it is tedious. Anybody with the right tools and lots of patience can do it.
As for risks, if the mechanic doesn't remove the windows (it's not necessary), the only real risk is breaking the plastic fasteners that hold the door panel on. Another possible but not likely problem is, under the door panel there is a plastic/foam membrane that provides, I assume, some kind of climate and sound insulation. If that gets mangled I guess it's not good. The last link Ken posted shows the plastic/foam.
