Hey Gang,
The first-ever Hummer-run went off quite well. I'm sorry to report that many members could not make it on account of the holidays, sickness or just being out of town...BUT they all called me and expressed interest in our next event, which should be in about 2-3 weeks!
We had a total of 5 Hummers, 3 H2's and 2 H1's...all experienced drivers looking for some serious action. The location proved to be exceptionally beautiful, but due to the fierce capability of the Hummers...not much of a challenge. It also didn't help that the park services cleared fallen trees and large debris from the road...talk about zapping our fun!
We still got out and made the most of it! Turns out the worst day offroading beats the best day working! (borrowed from a fishing saying).
Let's get to the pics!

A small rockslide...H2 tackles it. It's no biggy...but if you slip off the side...you only fall about 1,000 feet! (death-therapy sucks!)

Cari suddenly gets altitude-nuts and does a huge wheel-stand...shadows hide it, but that crazy-dude has his left rear tire about 3 feet in the air!!!! (DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS...professional insane driver)

Franco pulling up the rear in his mighty H1...always good to know he's pulling up the rear! Actually...he was one of the two who had the CB radio. Very cool guy!

There ya go....beatiful scenary and a great way to spend some time with friends...but not the most challenging of areas. We had a few mudholes, some loose stuff and even a rut or two. We all agreed that a BMW or Mercedes SUV would certainly had trouble...but this trail was no match for anything with the Hummer name on it!
Our next outting is going to be in 2-3 weeks, on either Saturday or Sunday. Local Humbudz: let me know which date is best for you, I will try to optimize attendence.
We will be hitting the San Bernardino Mountains, starting from Lake Silverwood and heading upto Arrowhead: experience required. Distance from L.A. is about 1.7 hours, should be beautiful AND challenging! /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
For some reason I can never get enough of pictures of the H2. Thanks Steve, don't hesitate to post more.
I notice that little Jeep Wrangler tagging along. Like that little kid who wants to hang with the big boys.
Okay, looks like you are in the lead for the best off-road adventure pics to-date.

you have to admit the Jeep is a cute little thang!! And for that much they are cousins to the H2.

Our most experienced and crazed members is Dave Vowell...he runs the H1 over anything and everything: pure madness.
His dad is in his mid 70's and loves to tag along with his little Jeeper. Not to be underestimated, that little jeep has the fancy heavy-duty axles and lots of good stuff. He's like those "ramora's" that tag along next to the sharks. Believe it or not, that little thing is extremely capable...it's sized just right. Very small though...not really meant for more then 2 people: an altogether different class of offroad vehicle.

thanks for the compliments and appreciation for the pics...it inspires me to take/do more. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
The first time I saw the H2 I thought that the H2 is what the Jeep really wanted to be. However Jeeps do deserve respect. If Chrysler was smart enough to take the Grand Cherokee to the next level or two, GM may have been pre-empted or at least would have solid competition. Gotta hand it to Hummer and GM, the guys at Chrysler are feeling like they missed an opportunity.

You are correct Hummer Girl, the Hummer is related to Jeep wich was at one time owned by AMC then spun off into AM General(Hummer) and Hummer was bought by GM.
