I noticed something on my H3 and I can't figure out if it's always been like that or if it just started. On the climate control dial that's all the way to the right (the one where you choose defrost, floor vents, etc.) there are 5 different icons; however, I noticed that when you turn the dial it "clicks" between the icons as well. In other words, the dial clicks on the icons themselves and also in between the icons for a total of 9 clicks. Does this happen in your H3s as well?

hmmmmm i noticed that as well, but i figured it was a mid way kind of thing. i guess what i thought was that if you were in between settings you were doing a 50/50 of what the icon on either indicates. Does anyone know for sure.

You got it...
From the H3 PDF owner's manual:

"With this system you can control the heating, cooling, and ventilation of your vehicle. In-between modes are available by moving the right control knob between modes with symbols. The in-between mode will be a combination of the two modes that the control is selected between."

f5fstop - thanks for carving that info out of the manual for us. I didn't read that section of the manual in enough detail.

I noticed the same thing about the climate control detents but assumed it was a sloppy design feature.

Me? Yes and know. I don't read all the standard information on drunk driving, how much I can drink, and how to use seat belts, but I do read what is specific to a vehicle. Most of the time I look to see if it is accurate; just out of curiosity.
Or, in the case of a question, it only takes a second to open a pdf file and search for the correct information. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

f5fstop, Where can that manual be downloaded from? Also do you know where to get a shop manual with schematics. PDF would be great here too.?

Thanks

Guess I should have read my manual a little more thoroughly http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. Who would have guessed that our spartan-looking climate controls were capable of such amazing feats?! Thanks f5fstop - you're a veritable fountain of Hummer information http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif.
