I am looking for an aftermarket air compressor (I don't have the adventure pkg.). Has anyone purchased one and what do you recommend?

Jason,

If you're just looking for something that'll re-inflate your tires....any old 12v compressor at Pep-Boys or other automotive parts store will pretty much do the trick. You can even get one with a built-in light, radio and other accessories.

That...or you can just keep on offroading with me! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

the trailhead compressor is probably the best after market compressor pricey but good. http://www.oasisoffroad.com/productMenu.html

you might also want to consider Co2 tanks they reinflate tires FAST.

you also might want to stay away from the PEP boys compressors they have a hard time refilling my son's 31" all terrain TAs

flat beg for mercy with my 32" MTRs and the tires you are running the thing probably won't fill one before it burns out.

if you wheel in So Cal, we could go out sometime and you can see just how fast the Co2 tanks refill tires

I would go for a big compressor cas I am too lazy to get a tank filled and it would sit there empty. Incidently, the compressor that comes with the air package is not bad. I can get from 20 to 45 in about 5-10 minutes per tire.

Note to Adam, I finally fixed my air hose.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

What size tire? I can air up a 32 from 13 to 30 in about 45 seconds with an air tank.

IIRC needing the compressor to run 20-40 minutes means you need a continuous duty pump. the others will need to rest probably between tires.

I went with outback air http://www.okoffroad.com/stuff-tank.htm you can put one together for less, but not much.

with your big Hummers I would take a serious look at the trailhead, and maybe even running a BIG external air tank. [I presume you have some room under your 37 acre hood ;-)] because they put out the power, I also would suggest poking around those web sites for info regarding aircompressors. There is some good info regarding the TYPE of pump
