any hell one more.......the worst part is i got stuck at 4:30pm and finally got a farmer with a four wheel drive tractor at 10:30pm to come down and pull me out from behind.. Called a tow truck company and he told me to fu&& myself at 7:00.. and had 3 four wheel drives and comealongs but none would move this tank. I will always wave at the farmers from now on!!!! But just for the record i did make it through the mean mud hole twice before getting stuck!! One guys said there has been 4 trucks in two weeks stuck here and one was there for 3 days before they got it out. Im not so sure ill try this one again!

Humgirl: You're 100% gutsier than the semi-male dorks who came out to berate rather than help. I'm sorry about your tough luck, but I respect you for pushing the limit. I think if I tried something like that, I'd have a fellow H2 along so if one of us got stuck, the other could help out.

Regarding the warranty: If you were just driving off road and something broke, that should be covered. Voiding a warranty generally takes place when you modify the vehicle [put in a super charger and break the transmission] or do something that the vehicle wasn't designed to do [towing more than the rated weight for the vehicle]. You were driving an off road vehicle off road. If I had to bet, I'd say the warranty should cover it. However, I'd try to wash all the mud off (especially underneath) before delivering it to the dealership. No sense in giving them too much to think about.

A post a month ago spoke of cleaning the undercarriage by parking the truck over a garden sprinkler and moving it every 2 hours.

Good Luck,

George SSSS

When I bought my H2 in July I was told any off road damage is NOT covered by warrenty. I dont know if they just say that or if thats true. I wouldn't mention that you were off roading, perhaps if you have to, tell them you were pulling a boat or something. And you were doing it under normak conditions.

Ok .....ill be very mad if they give me the run around over this!!! Its a hummer.....'like nothing else" The noise happen at 3000rpm.....just cheap in my opinon!!!! Pay top dollar for this truck and it blows apart that easy.....im not impressed at all.....The ford that was in the picture didnt break and its a quarter the price...... If Iam stuck with the repairs i will sell this truck and not purchase no more hummers...

Oh, I didn't know the ford was doing the same thing you were doing. You need to remember that if you play hard things are bound to break one time or another.

They will cover it.

You were within the intended limits of the vehicle.

Had you driven through 40 inches of water and flooded the engine, they'd say FU. But some light mudding is well within your H2s capabilities.

Yes, it sounds like you broke a tooth off in one of the diffs. Tell the dealer to give you a rental and call you when its fixed. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I do not want to sound like you mother here, but here is some advice I recieved on the forum from Former Jeeper:
What to bring?

Another vehicle of the same model is useful.

Water, water and more water.
Batteries
Flashlight
Blankets

Hardware:
Gas Cans with extra gas
Tow Strap
CB radio
Hi-Lift
Shovel
Axe

You are going with experienced wheelers, so don't worry. Enjoy the experience and remember in the future - NEVER TRAVEL ALONE

Enjoy!

-C

I have seen folks on this forum, going out alone for a day in the woods.

I feel empathetic towards the situation, but please for your own sake, follow FJ'advice in the future.

When your truck just grinds in 4 unlock, but moves in 4 lock, that means you broke a front
cv joint or shaft. Not uncommon when doing some rough off roading. Dealer should cover it with no problem. I would clean off the undercarriage as well as I can just to be on the safe side.

Sorry to hear about the troubles. All vehicles, regardless of make, are bound to have problems at one point or another, some at bad places and times. Nothing's perfect http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Anyway, this reminds me of an embarassing experience I had. I was over at a professors house in Mass. and there was like three feet of snow on the ground. Well, I parked in this dugout along the roadside, and when we got back out to the car, I had someone parked like a foot behind me, and snow a foot in front. So, I gunned it hoping for the best. Well, I got like five feet into the snowbank and then sank. We had to go back into the house full of UMass professors (who all worship the Prius) and explain the situation. Well, my friend had to blurt out "THERES A HUMMER STUCK OUTSIDE!!!" (I was just going to ask for a shovel and say a car was stuck). Anyway, a testimate to the H2, one branch stuck under the rear tire (with snow packed up entirely underneath) was enough to back the car right out after the car that was parked behind us left. It was embarassing, and I learned not to be so stupid.

I just wanted to share that. Luckily, my Jeep-obsessed friend never found out. His "H2 Recovery Team" t-shirt would have been worn everyday after that just to taunt me.

I'm calling your dealership right away to let them know you took your vehicle offroad.

No warranty for you....ONE YEAR! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Why?????? It was well within its limits!!! and they know anyway.... Warrenty covers broken parts even if you were offroading.. unless they are caused by impact, jumping or other activities behind the h2 limits. I was well with the trucks limits, so go find something better to do with your time loser!
