im thinking of putting a single din nav unit where the onstar is. can i just unplug the onstar unit and remove it? is it gonna cause any trouble? im not gonna bother relocating it since i dont use it.also i read on here about guys using the onstar antenna for the gps when installing the factory nav radio in 03s, u think i can use the onstar antenna on a pioneer nav unit? the specs say the pioneer antenna is a 9 channel gps antenna?

I've removed Onstar in my 04 and am using the stock GPS antenna with an Eclipse navigation head unit. It works great... You'll probably have to change the antenna connector though, or make a conversion cable. For my install I decided to cut off the stock connector and solder on the connector supplied with the Eclipse antenna.
