Hi everyone, I am looking to purchase a new Hummer H3 with an MSRP of $38,480. I will be trading in my 2002 M3 coupe which I looked up on NADA as having a trade-in value of $37,380. Retail value of $42,000. I still owe $30,412 on the M3. I was wondering if the dealer gives me close to the NADA.com price, what should I expect as a lease rate for 15,000 miles a year and 48 months.

I don't know about the lease rate but I attempted to trade in my 2001 Z3 M. NADA was around $27,000 and they wanted to give me $19,000. I laughed and just paid the price out for the H3.
It was worth it but hope they don't try to screw you on your BMW.

Hopefully not since the M3 is a limited edition model and mine is fully loaded with Navi, park distance, xenon, sunroof, power everything, and leather, and 19 inch rims. I also have an extended waranty good until April of 2008 or 100k miles.

If the dealer can't give me close to what I am asking for the M3, I guess I will just bite the bullet and buy snow tires once again this year and pray that I do not get stranded again in another big snow storm. This vehicle is not the best in the snow, but 0-60 in 4.8 seconds is fun http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

My Z3 was certified to 100,000 18 inch 35 series tires, Dinan components all around. All the packages and hard top.

When I bought my H3, I tried to trade in my 2004 Lexus Rx330. I owed $35,000 and they wanted to give $28,000. I believe you are better off selling it private party, at least they were willing to give me $ 32,500...
Just research your vehicles value and be ready to play ball. If your local dealer won't, go to another. Also sometimes the headache of selling private party is not worth it....Theres some give and take, but in the end you do have the upper hand http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

In my experience they tend to give the "auction" price as trade in values. It sucks but I guess they are running a "business."
BTW - If you drive an M3 you are going to be disappointed with the power of this thing. Go to Budget and rent one before you decide.

An alternative to selling it to a private party is to take it to CarMax and sell it to them. They will buy the vehicle even if you are not buying from them. I sold a vehicle to them about 2 years ago and they gave top trade-in value based on KBB.
