key was in ON position (even tried it w/ key held in START position)..nuthin'
is the starter dead?
this was my last hope...I'm gonna have to bite the bullet & tow the sucker... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Sounds like you were spinning the starter, but it was not enguaging. Not sure if these babies have gear reduction starters or not.
You did the right thing having the tow truck coming - they can unlock doors at the location. I think it is about 75 bucks, well it is around here. I did it one time on my old GMC, and that was cheaper than a window! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I always wondered how that worked...do they just take your word on the phone? Sounds kinda freaky to me. I hope some screw ball cannot just get my vin and call in a key. My dealer is 100+ miles from me.

Very good to know. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Back in the day in high school (95 maybe) I was puting a body kit on my BMW, and I was buying a bunch of things, and had the dealer send the items to the bodyshop I was working at p/t...I just told them to toss in a key, gave them the VIN and it showed up in the mail. It totally freaked me out, I was expecting a blank that I could have cut.
