View Full Version : GMID vs GM FamilyFirst
I was expecting a GMID authorization from a cooperative guy at GM, but I received a "Family First" authorization instead. From what I see on the GM website, FF is for relatives; which I'm not. Anyone know if this is a problem? Or did I just discovera long-lost cousin at GM?

Mine was in an email ***led family first when I got it, but it was GMID. Unfortunately I couldn't find a dealer to take it.
Good luck.

Believe that might have been me. Family first is the website we go to for the authorization numbers.
I believe if the number has GMD it is GMID, if it is GMS it is employee.
If your the person (sent out a few in the past few months) it is a GMID; sorry can't adopt you.

Another question to clarify this--
The email I got had "GM Family First Authorization" in the subject line and the authorization number has GID after it. This means it is GMID right?? Thanks for the help.

I didn't type the ***, and I didn't even notice it in my post.
Odd... Word was labeled. We'll see if it gets through this time. Maybe big brother is watching and it is some sort of foreign expletive?

Guess I should have read the rest of your post. I knew Sewell was taking them, but I said what the hell and bought mine last week without it.
Got $1400 more for my trade than they wanted to give plus had them drop all their extra fees (was almost $1400 more).
Still paid more than I wanted to, but man is it cool!
