Friends:

I'm planning on buying the Warn Multi-Mount Winch that is set up at the Warn factory for the H2 front receiver. Two questions:

Does anyone have any comments about any part of that product?

Does the kit come with a dust cover for the power lead to seal it when the vehicle is being driven without the winch (which will be often for me).

Thanks in advance,

George SSSS

Consider also buying the rear wiring kit when you buy the winch. You'll then be able to winch from the front and back.

I own it and have zero complaints. Consider buying the "generic" multi-mount instead of the Hummer-specific. It's the exact same product except with the generic you'll need to drill a vertical hitch pin hole. It's an easy task and will save you a few bucks on the purchase. Also, buy battery terminal extenders; the #2 wires are a bear to install on the stock battery terminals due to stock parts' short length. Get a locking hitch pin. If money isn't an issue, a synthetic cable and a roller fairlead are nice but not necessary upgrades.

Yes. It's a form-fit cap that covers the plug and requires a good tug to remove.

I picked up the winch and multi-mount through the H2 Source online store [at a nice discount http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif] and had the dealership do the install. I picked up the winch cover as well, but it has yet to ever be on the truck!

No complaints, but then again I only used the winch twice to pull two dealership rigs arcoss a water crossing and up a mud-slicked hill at one of the early Hummer Happenings.

Guys: Thanks for the outstanding information. That covers everything I can think of at this point. It's extremely helpful.

Best regards,
