Finally got the MC2's so I had the Coopers mounted today. The ride and noise level is similar to the Toyo MT's. The tires are 35/12.50-18's and cost $310 a piece.
As for the wheels, I was dead set on getting black wheels but it's the wife's rig and she wanted bling! Anyway, I got a great deal on these MC2's and what a difference forged alloys make, especially the stopping distance.

nice tires, I just ordered the same tire but size 35x12.5x17, can't wait to get them on. Your price seems a little high. I paid $212.00 a tire. Costed me $963.00 for all 4 mounted, lifetime balance, lifetime nitrogen fill, front end alignment, road hazzard warranty and tax. Looks awesome though, I'm soooo excited.

Looks great...I'm going to replace my tires with the Cooper STT's. I can't decide if I should go with 35'x12.50's or 37'x12.50's. Could you post a pic of your truck from the side to show how the 35's fill the wheel wells? Also, how do you like the ride? Are they noisy, etc.
kacyk

I'll try to take a pick but it's been raining every freaking day here. As for the filling out the wheel well, it's the same height as the stock but the knobby tread and aggressive side wall design gives it the illusion of being more rubust. Plus the wheels and tires are wider than stock so from a 3/4 angle it looks better.
As for the noise. Man you'll love these! At speeed the aggressive tread will let you know they are there but it not intrusive or annoying. I had Nitto Mud Grapplers and those things sing! The Coopers and the Toyo M/T are the amongst the quietest M/T in the market.

I am having the tire store order both sizes for me to look at, and mount 1 of each to check the fit. I'm putting them on Helo Guns that are 17x9. I think that will be an awesome setup. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The Cooper Tires look great, however, are they available without the white lettering on the inside of the tire? Also, has anyone used these tires off-road?
Jimstepside
01-29-2006, 01:45 PM
I got a price from the tire store of 250.00 for the 35x12.50x17, and 253.00 for the 37's. I'll probably go with the 37's. According to Cooper's web site, the 35's come in white letters, the 37's are black.

Anyone have balancing issues with the Coopers? I have a steering wheel vibration at 45 to 60 mph. I took it back once and they were not able to fix the issue. I go back tomorrow and if that fails, I will be referred to a Les Schwab Tire Center that has a "Road Force" allignment machine.
I hope it can be fixed. I just pray it's not the wheels I just got. They are MC2's that were designed for the H2 but I got them off Ebay so who knows! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
Has anyone else experienced a vibration in their steering wheel but only at certain speeds? Is it usually a tire balance issue?

I've got these tires on mc2's too, I have the 35's and mine were ballanced on the inside of rim and thats it and crusing at 85 no vibrations. The tire store told me if I did have a vibration they could spray some powder crap in the tire and should work.????

Jimstepside

Thanks for picture. I wanted to see a side view of your truck with them mounted to see the clearance of the wheel wells. The tire store that I am using ordered me a 37 x 12.50 x17 for me to look at. It looks huge sitting along side of the truck. Its kinda hard to tell what it will look like on the truck, so he is going to order 35's and 37's and mount one of each for me to see. I see that you have 18" wheels, so that added one inch to the profile. The wheels are Helo Guns in 17 x 9...
kacyk

37's with Helo guns will look awesome. The 37's will fill out the wheel well nicely! Personally I think my gap is too much with the 35's. I should have gone with the 37's. I contemplated this for many days and I regret not doing it.
Jimstepside
01-31-2006, 09:24 PM
I'm 99% sure I'm going with the 37's. I don't want the regrets with the 35's too. I also just posted a reply to your black wheel post in General Discussion.

I don't know about the Tri-Cities but it's been pouring non-stop in Seattle. There are flood areas all over the place. I took the wife's H2 to work yesterday and had some fun storming through what seemed like small lakes!
Also, Doc, I decided to keep the ski racks. We took the kids skiing last weekend for the first time and they loved it. We had about 2 feet of snow at our cabin and we just missed the avalanche on our way back through Steven's Pass.

Got the tires and wheels mounted today. I went with the 37's. I am very pleased with the look. They are noisy, but I'm comparing that to the stock BFG's. I never ran a mud terrain tire before, so I really don't have anything to compare to...You definately know they're there.

Very very nice, especially with the Helo Guns. Did you order it with the center caps that stick out? The Helo Guns I've seen on H2's around here were flush. I had that same issue with the KMC's I bought. They came with the larger center cap instead of the ones that are flush. I had the tire shop order me some flush ones.
