could someone who has already taken out there factory deck and installed there own, please answer a few questions for me.
my main one is, as it stands right now, when someone calls me my radio cuts out and i answer the call, when i dial out it shows the number, will these features still work with a different deck?

and also i have 2 12 inch subs phoniex gold to install but i dont want to loose my back space with the box, could someone direct me to the posting where someone installed it in there jack department.

thank you

With a aftermarket system like the eclipse the screen will go black it will not list the #.

I seen the thread on the speakers installed in jack compartment they were 8" subs check the find button on top of posts It was listed a month or two ago.If you dont have the monsoon radio you might be able to put subs on left side in cargo area.If you have an adventure package you would have a compartment ther.

I have a zip file of the photos of the install that you can download. Keep in mind the file is somewhere around 15 meg.

Sub Install (http://www.hummercluborlando.com/images/H3SubInstall.zip)

The install is a pair of 8"s not 12"s. I don't think there is any way you can get a pair of 12"s in there. At least not with a properly sized enclosure or without major mods to the door panel. The setup with the 8"s can be taken back to stock and nobody would every know the install was done. Hope this info helps.

on my Pioneer D1, when a call is placed or recieved the unit mutes the radio/cd you are listening to at the time and goes to phone/onstar.

As for numbers showing up i'm not sure... cause my stock radio the numbers never showed either, so it could be a difference with the moonson system vs the regular.

either way, you'll need to pick up the onstar module which you can find at any local stereo shop.

PAC Audio actually builds an ONSTAR harness you you can install another head unit without killing the onstar.

They also build a harness that will allow you to plug your IPOD into the factory unit.

I never even noticed if my radio displays the number to be called. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
