This is Hercules, A 6 yr old english mastiff. He weighs 215lbs. He is too lasy to put his paws up to get into my H2. He wont't go up a ramp. I guess I will have to tow him.

Cool pooch....Mastiffs are cool dogs. My wife tried to talk me into a French Mastiff(dogue de Boredeaux) when my Renasence Bulldog was a pup but they are just too big. They are cool dogs though:

Not until we went to our bulldog breeder's house. There were these huges piles of dung in the front yard, so I started looking around for a mule or maybe a llama. The answer came when the breeder opened the front door with a French Mastiff in tow. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Bailey and Maverick.

Mav is a 3 yr old Dalmatian - free from a gas station. No one wanted him because they thought he was going to be a horse - mom was 70 lbs, dad was 90 lbs. Mav turned out to be 40 lbs fully grown. Dog has some serious attitude problems, maybe "short man syndrome". Don't get a Dalmatian.

Bailey - we have NO idea what she is. We think she's part lab, part pit bull. Got her from the humane society, she's around 6 yrs old. The fire department had rescued her and her brother from a drainage pipe when she was little - both dogs were stuck, they think the mom got killed in traffic. No one adopted her for 18 mos because she had severe mange, she was pretty much bald when we adopted her. The mange cleared up within a month after we brought her home. GREAT dog. Very good with the baby.

Anyone want a Dalmatian?

No way! I have known a several people with Dalmatians and all but one of them was a basket case.

Great dogs everyone.

Don't have any pics of her but I have a Shar-pei mix. Tosha is about 11 and is one of the best dogs I have ever had. Her dad was a full blooded Shar-pei a friend had for breeding and her mother was his other dog, a Doberman/Lab mix. The one dog I have had that might have been better was a full blooded Cocker. He and Tosha are two of the smartest dogs I have ever been around. Funny thing is, a friend of mine had Tosha's brother and he was dumb as a box of rocks.

Hey md, I'm sorry to hear about your loss...I'll be feeling the same pain pretty soon. I have a golden retriever that was diagnosed with cancer about 6 months ago and given until Jan or Feb of '06...he's getting thinner but still has pretty good 'quality of life'...loves to go out into the back yard in the morning and claim his territory and walk the perimeter of his kingdom. I'm pretty lucky to have had him this long though...he turned 16 last December. My condolences.

Absolutely a great dog. The Bernese kicks ass. My mom brings her to work all the time. She is a great judge of character. If she doesn't like someone we know to watch that person. Always works out. I was going to get one but too big for my house. I ended up getting a miniture Bernese. A beagle. Ok not really the same but she thinks my parents dog is her mom. Except for my dog wont lay in the snow for hours on end.

My next dog is definitely going to be a cousin of the bernese. The Entlebucher or the Appenzeller.

Wow. What a beautiful Doberman, I LOVE the crop on him, and his rust markings are so dark. I have a nearly six year old Red and Rust male named Duke. He's been a great dog, so far. I'm moving soon and gonna leave Duke with the parents, but think I'll adopt another Doberman. First though I need to get over the fact that my 13 year old Black Lab Kimber died last week very suddenly. Not the kind of news you want to get on vaccation, its gonna be strange getting home and not having her there.
