I dropped the H2 off yesterday at the local body shop (not the one that H1'S R OK works at either)They took the grill off and sanded it and painted it with an epoxy paint and clear coat, put it back on. They also removed the door emblems and shortened my rear hitch step so it isn’t in the way when using the tow hooks. They even washed it. When I picked it up today he said $75 I told him that sounded too cheap but he said that that was plenty.

Very sweet. I think you body guys nucking futs, but if it works, then more power to you.

The ride looks great!! That is where I am headed with mine. Did you PC the wheels or paint? What is the spec on the finish?? It looks nice and flat and that is how I want mine.

BTW, where are you located?

I think I'm going to try to paint the grill myself. If I screw it up, I'll just order a color matched one.

I did my wheel centers and they have been holding up great.

Thwe ride looks great. Noticed the snow...do you have any isues with the defrosters not working sufficiently to prevent ice-up as was mentioned in as previous thread?

Nothing major, but I havent had to drive in much bad weather yet. I really dont understand the way they have the whole dam thing set up. I can set it at 90 and on auto and freeze my ass off, I have to put it on manual defrost to get decent heat. I'm still experimenting.

Nav, I really like the look of your truck. I have alot more shiney stuff than you do, but darn that all black looks nice.

Now just smoke the lights and it will be super wicked.

Any suggestions on smoking the lenses ourself? I looked for products yesterday and only really found one. VHT Nite Shades (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=VHT%2DSP999). Anyone?

Sorry Ken, just kidding. But I don't think you need to tint the lenses, it will make you look like a drug dealer.

So, is this first hand knowledge, or is knocking down what other's like just a part of your personality?

Doing a bit more research I have found some really negative and some really positive feedback about the Nite Shade product mentioned above.

Some folks gripe about it being very hard to apply and some have said that it will "crack like dried mud" after a while. Certainly that is not a good thing.

I think I will be waiting for headlamp and taillamp covers or mine. Until then, I do not expect to be too successful selling drugs while I am in da hood. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

NICE GRILL and CONGRATULATIONS on doing it yourself. Well, having a shop do it for you. Saved you money and you still got the same look and seem to be happy.

As far as tinting the lenses, I used a can of lense tint from Japan and had no problems. However, I only used this for the taillights, marker lights, and roof lights. We actually painted the reflector of the headlights when we were building them so I have the look of a "BLACK HEADLIGHT". I do not recommend tinting the headlights due to differing laws and also the fact that you will be projecting less light on the road which may cause problems for you (the driver) more than for oncoming traffic.

If you are really interested in "TINTED LENSES", I know some of the members have been looking for the GT Styling lenses that were on the KAZADA INC. H2 at SEMA. http://elcova.com/groupee/forums?a=tpc&s=2826088551&f=6706011751&m=5426077715
I went to the GT STYLING (http://www.gtstyling.com/index.cfm) website but did not see a specific application for the H2. However, since the H2 is just a 7" round, I am sure there is a different application that should fit. Maybe a Jeep? **** I hope no one kills me for posting that word / suggestion. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

But then again, these are just my thoughts and opinions.
