Traded in the Black '03 Lingenfelter H2 and the Red Thunder.
Got it Thursday evening. Then it went for the lift Friday morning. We got it back this afternoon. Need to install our DRTY winch bumper soon. We have ordered the E&G Fender flares and an over the hood brush guard and we will slowly black out the chrome- tint the front etc. over the next few months.http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The DRTY front winch bumper should go on this week as soon as the rain stops. We're also going to Line-X the front grill like DRTY did.
We went with a 12" wide wheel instead of the 10" and haven't had any lock-to-lock rubbing. We'll know more about that when we hit the trails.
The spare should be here in a few days.
It is BADASS! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I suppose you ordered the flares with the 12" extensions. That should cover the tires. I can only imagine you going through one of the mud holes and flying mud everywhere. I will NEVER be the truck behind you. Shrapnel flying everywhere.

Looks nice gang. Congrats on the new ride. It is sweet. That is what I'm doing next is a lifted one to pull My show Queen. I have not talked to many but have been thinking a goose neck setup with hide a ball to tow show trailer. It will have the twin turbo's for power to pull so I do not have to worry to much about breaking something. It will be lowered first so it does not collect to much air under it when doing the trials. After We try the racer goes back to daly driver and lift.

The Red Thunder was the minivan. We traded it in. I haven't driven it in months anyway.
I will be driving the pick-up until I figure out what I want. But Kenny said I will be able to drive the SUT when I want. But I will be scared to park it. I don't think I can get in until we get a step or something.

No Supercharger.
It was fun, don't get me wrong.
But the engine had too many hands in it and it had a tendency to malfunction when wheeling. It was hard to figure out with all the extra stuff going on in there.
This one will be built for wheeling.

For those of you that know about my on going overheating issue I made it to CA last night (late)without any trouble. I even saw the temp gauge read 185 (I think, the second mark on the gauge, 160=cold at start then the next mark=185 followed by 210)210 is still where it trucks temp stays most of the time but at least on the down hill parts of the trip between Vegas and Ca the gauge went to 185http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
I'm still concerned about the temp being 210 most of the way home and even more so now with the 160 thermostat installed.
I am almost 100% certain that the cooling issue for me isn't my radiator or the trucks stock cooling components.
The problem is with Mangnacharger's inner cooler. It's not big enough or efficient enough.
How do I know this? Simple while going down a couple of the long hills with the temp resting at 185 I accelerated until the supercharger came on and the temp rose very quickly back to 210...
So I'm going to look into getting a more efficient or larger intercooler and see if I can't keep the trucks operating temp down around 185.
I know a change of 25 degrees isn't that big of a temp jump especially under acceleration. The trouble is that the supercharger comes on or kicks in at 2000rpm's which is anywhere between 60mph and 80mph depending on the terrain. This is a problem since most of the country's max allowed speed is 65mph or better. (And I can’t drive 65!) A bigger concern right now for me is what happens when summer hits in Vegas? Do I leave the truck in the garage for 16 weeks? I don't think so...
Sorry for hi-jacking this thread.

I think you should go take a look at:
http://*******club.com/gallery.html Then judge for yourself.
Or take a look at the Moab Pictuer post. The reason you don't see much of Phil's truck is bcause he was over and done with anything that came his way on the trail before the rest of us caught up with him. The rest of us couldn't keep up with Phil and his monster Fabtech lifted truck.
Other than that I think your tech friend is an idiot and so are you for believing his cr*p. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Fubar, our intercooler pump wires were pulled by mistake when we removed the electric fans and we never had an overheating issue. This was over the summer for a couple of months. I think you're heading down the wrong road with that one.
If the pump is not working you should run low in the resevoir. The fluid will just boil away. Mine went empty and that's how we realized the pump wasn't working. There was NEVER an overheating issue.

Thanks Gang. We love it, but need some removeable steps or I'm going to kill my back picking CP up all the time. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
As for the ride, it's actually... Different. Against PhilD's advice I had them install the Fabtech idler and pitman arms with the lift instead of waiting a few hundred miles. DAMN! The thing was hard as hell to drive. I couldn't talk on the phone, light a smoke and drink a Pepsi at the sametime. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif The truck was all over the place.
Now that we're putting a few miles on it and getting used to the ride it's actually pretty nice. The truck does wonder around on wavy roads, but you get used to it.
The turning radius, I swear, it better than the old truck. Don't ask me why, but I haven't found a parking spot I couldn't get in or out of. With the old truck I sometimes had to reverse it to get in the spot. I know, weird.

Ken, thanks for the advice. I guess it's back on the phone with Magnacharger then because I've exhausted every other train of thought. My dealership's answer is to hold on to the truck so long that I get pissed and come take it back without them having to do anything http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
Thanks for posting more pictures of your truck it looks AMAZING. Sorry to hear you are experiencing drifting issues with the new lift. I think I'll be going with a Rancho 4 inch lift partially because I've not heard of anyone having similar tracking issues.

Here's an idea:
The factory letters really don't come off well, so buy another set and take them with you. After the first coat of Line-X have them apply the new letters and coat over them. You'll have a nice embossed look. Much better than ours. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Ken,
Can you tell me which Line-X dealer you used and a tech's name? If I'm going to have to try to convince the locals to do it, it'd be cool to have a reference for them to talk to.
Also, what kind of cleanup is needed before the procedure?

He didn't want to do it when I first went there, but after talking to DRTY about his I just took it back and said "Do it. If it melts, too bad for me."
They used 60 grit to really rough the surface and then used a "Misting" technique for the application. It wouldn't have taken them very long, but it was their first so they were extra careful.
You don't have to prep anything. Just remove the four 10mm nuts and carefully pull the grill off. I did break one of the fasteners, but you'd never know. If you have a friend with you have them hold it after you remove the nuts and use needle nose pliers to squeeze the fasteners and push them out. Very easy and about 3 minutes.

looks awsome guys!!!!! Man I miss my line-x grill from the 2003 now!!!
Welcome to the wonderful world of SUT ownership!!! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
there is no problem with the grill melting as I have had mine and I know several others who have done it.
we didn't even sand down the chrome, but taking the extra step probably will help you in the end.

Yup, with the Fabtech steering kit. I've had it for about 2 months now, and I think it drives almost exactly like it did before the lift. Handling-wise, at least. The first few days scared the crap out of me, but it doesn't drift at all now, even at 70+ MPH.
Wind is a REAL bitch tho.

Need suggestions for blacking out the door handles. I really hate the idea of removing the chrome ones because it's an all day thing, and I'm afraid the bedliner would be too rough on the hands.
