Here's a tip...

Flip over the mat in the cargo area. It's rubber on the other side (no bumps) and has the H3 logo. Looks pretty sweet!

Whomever did the job, they did a fantastic job on the back. While it looks naked to me, it's a very well done job.

Enjoy!

Very nice. What did you do about the vent in the rear door?

Looks great. Even better than I remember the Photochop version looking!

I don't normally go for the shiny stuff but dang, that's a very well done blend/balance of colors, black and shine. Very nice! The front tow hooks remind me of a dancer I once knew . . . http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Ditto what Murph asked -- where's the vent?

Are you doing to swap the bumper out now? Or make something to rid of the tire gap?

I wonder if you can put the plate there, and add another tow loop.

Thanks for all the positive feedback!! The rear vent is GONE. I haven't relocated it either. Since there is no vent I haven't noticed any real difference as of yet - come winter if the rear starts to condense really bad I may look at relocating it, but until then its gone.

That actually is a pretty good idea. I don't know how I could possibly do that without making it look like a hack job though. Actually, as it is I think it looks pretty good so I don't have any plans on altering the back bumper.

The guy that I had do the work did an awesome job. I really couldn't have asked for more. When I went to pick the truck up he said that he would NEVER do another though - he put in an extra 8 HOURS above his quote!! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

So I got one helluva a good price for a job very well done. $800 CND.......but if you ask him now it is $1200 CND! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Since you "cleaned up" the back I think it would look cool if you had all of the black/grey plastic painted yellow to match the body panels for a true clean look. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Are you going to put the H3 logo back on? I think it would look good if you did, but it looks great now and glad you're happy with the result.

I just flipped over that rear mat and the H3 does look pretty cool!!

I am going to put the H3 logo back on as soon as I get some 3M tape. I don't mind the look of it as is, but the H3 is a definate must! Have to represent yo! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Most people think you'll see the plastic "nipples" under it, when in fact it has a nice logo appearance to it, and will prevent items from sliding around.

Nice work!

come winter you just lost alot of rear weight do you think the rear is going to be all over the place now I think the rear tire looks good on the back plus gives good weight for the rear tires.

That rear door sure lost some weight.

I noticed the jack/tools are on the cargo space, did you also lost the mounting bracket?

Actually its in the Green Supercharged H2 right now. I rotate it around so each of the vehicles can have its turn carrying it. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Yeah, the rear door flys open now. And all the original mounting brackets are still in place. The only modification was to the exterior sheet metal. All interior parts are intact. If I wanted to remount the bracket it would take all of 4 drill holes and would be done.

I say give the H3's four or five years, probably less and we will see how many of the rear doors are sagging like every other GM setup ie) specifically the Jimmy.

I knew someone who had a cavalier and he was in an accident. The airbags deployed. The air pressure in the car was so strong that it blewout the sunroof and he really felt it in his ears. That's with a vented car.
Just a thought, but you might want to find a solution for the vent, just in case.

ShaunH3,

I was only kidding and that comment wasn't directed at you. It was from that other post.

Just having fun.

Sharkster: That looks really good! However that would take a ridiculous amount of work on top of what I had done already to get it to look like that. But I still think that HUMMER should offer something similar to what either I have done or you have in your picture. Sort of what they did for the H2's. Not everyone likes a huge tire on the back, and would be nice to have an option from the factory.

H3OH: I didn't catch on to you referring to the other post at first read. But it actually is in the back of the Supercharged H2 right now....hehehe http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The work cost $800 CND, but the shop said they had to put an additional 8 hours of work on top of what they quoted. So basically the garage said they wouldn't touch another for less than $1200

I will relocate the vent if there is something warranting it. Right now there is no noticable difference. Come winter if there is alot of condensation or cold spots in the truck then the vent will probably go in a wheel well.

I'll bet with the weight of the spare off it, the rear door about throws you to the ground when you open it! LOL!

Hahahahah!

No kidding! I'd like to see a video of it opening now. With the tire, it starts off slow at first, then hauls ass to full open. I can't imagine what that's like now. LOL!

And I'm super slow as I thought the only change from Sharksters posts was the Hummer logo. I Just saw it all flattened with solid indent at bottom.

Yeah, basically just "shave my ****"......hahahaha You might be coming out with more than you asked for if you say that.

All I did was take everything off, and went to a local body shop and had him look at it and quote me on what he could do it for. The quote was very important.....saved me $400.00 of labor!

I will try to get a video of the door opening...it really FLYS open!! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Very nice.. I had my H3 for about 2 hours and off came my spare. Im leaving my mount holes alone so I have the option to put back on for trips. If it wasnt for that reason I would be looking for a body shop too. Again,,,, Very Nice... Heres a pic of mine. You can compare the look of both. Really like yours better..
