Has anyone here had any dealings with Tough Country Armor Series products for the H2. They Seem to look good, just wondering if anyone on the forum has purchased any of these products.

Yes, we had a Goateed member with them a while back. . . I've seen them up close.
My advice is to keep looking. They were big, heavy and poorly designed. You will hurt your approach angle. A lot of Texans (and rednecks) like the big bulky Ranch Hand look though. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

I don't care for their front bumbers, but do like there rear bumbers, and even the look of there roof rack....what do the rest of you forum members think about them?
I like the gobi rack better...as for the bumpers, your rig, your call man!

IMHO it looks kinda cheesy. Do they mention how the whole things pivots to allow the hood to open?
Something else to think about is the fact the recovery hooks and the "D" rings are welded on rather than bolted. That would concern me as it's harder to calculate the breaking strength, not to mention the angle the lower hooks are attached at and the plate they attached to wouldn't make me feel very confident using them for a recovery. Also if you hit something with one of the hooks (there kinda in the strike zone) you could really comprise the strength, leaving them weaker than intended when you need them the most. Hope that makes sense, just my 0.02c.

I looked at the pics, and I think they look a bit too yicky to put on my truck. Can the rack get any taller? Maybe that is good for when you are putting a Mini Cooper on the roof...but that is about it. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I kinda like the taller rack...and the idea of not having to remove the factory cross bars. I go on many trips in my H2 and when I go, I have at least 3 other people with me ie...all their baggage and mine! So the ht. of the rack is just right for my needs! Of couse the whole thing would have to be rino coated!

Didn't know that Gobi made brackets for that...good to know! As for Tough Country's front bumper, I hate the look of it!...I was more interested in the rear bumper...all steel to replace GM's cheap looking pastic one. But of corse it too would need to be rino coated!
I all ready have the front bumber I wanted...had it custom made and rino coated. One day I might get around to taking a few pictures of it!
