wheels spinning in the mud.causing the traction control system to activate,to turn off the tcs just push the tcs button while in 4hi lock or 4 low lock.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but I had something similar happen yesterday that I had not noticed before. I'm usually looking at the road: Leaving a light I stomped it and as the tires were spinning the DIC said something like "Traction Activated". How can I keep that from happening? I was in 4hi only. Or is it impossible?

Keep a light foot on the brake.

The "traction control" light goes on (and off) to let you know that the system is doing its job. Unless you know WHY you want to deactivate the traction control (eg. light braking to BTM), you shouldn't be bothered by the message and instead TAKE COMFORT YOUR H2 IS LIKE NOTHING ELSE!! Edit:
(Put it another way, if in the course of normal off-roading, you DON'T see the "traction control" light going on-off, you SHOULD be worried! Either you need warranty work, or you're not off-roading hard enough... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

Ithink the fact that the TC and ABS lite on the dash stayed on after i came to a stop and wouldnt go out( i turned the truck on and off to get them to go out) thats what alarmed me...

Ok, that's different. The last time both of those lights went on on mine, I was letting my truck roll backward on a steep hill, without changing gear to "R", and the engine DIED ON ME!! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif Almost had a heart attack when the power break gave up...

That is the way mine acted last time I got stuck with my mall terrains. I had to rock the truck and spin pretty good to get out, the lights came on and stayed on till I turned the key off and restarted the truck. No problems since. I guess the system gets confused with excessive wheel spin.

Yeah probably too much spin since i was basically doing a 4 wheel drift in the sand...
