I was wondering if warranty work has to be done at the dealership or if I can go elsewhere? Anybody have the same/similar situation?
The Hummer dealership in Anchorage moved. The quality of service I used to get at Anchorage Chrysler Dodge was absolutely the best. Unfortunately, Alaska Sales and Service have taken over. Brought my truck in for a simple oil change and tire rotation, and got a whole bunch of scratches on the rear passenger door.
If anybody has any info on the subject it would be much appreciated!

yes work must be done at a hummer dealer..found that out myself today.. got my truck back yesterday, they replaced the front CV joint, then noticed today almost like a belt slipping noise but its not, so i called the dealer which is 2 hours away and asked if i take it to the local gm dealership to get fixed would warranty cover it, and the answer is no. Its a real pain driving 2hrs just to get it fixed! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

My dealer, well the one I used to use, and will never again, told me I could get warranty work done at ANY GM dealership. So maybe he just pulled that out of his anal crevice.

I have to say this is all very bad news. I just hate the new dealership. I think I will give my old dealership a call and see what they have to say. Anyways keep me posted everybody as I will be doing the same.
Thanks
