Wow, Cubby. I wouldn't do this to mine as it would take a beating off-road, but I have to admit, it's sharp. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

But you are certainly going to catch a bunch of %&@$ from some folks here http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.
Tell me in 6 months how the painted plastic holds up. I have been thinking about doing some myself but do not want chips and super ugly scratches.

Cubby, if you painted the TV, you can't watch the TV any more. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I've seen photos of these color dash before but I didn't know they were painted, I thought they were replacement of the entire dash plastic piece. Very nice.

Has anyone ever really relized that is seems only Americans cars are chromed out? I rearly see like a german or Japanesse car with a crap load of chrome...Maybe Americans just like it more for some reason. Just food for thought.

Thanks.

We didn't polish the skid plate........we did darken the background so the H2 would stand out better. Figured whats the point in chroming it. it's just gonna get scratched up anyway...LOL

I'm thinking about having a skid plate black anodized, then polishing the top of the H2 letters to a mirror finish (like chrome). http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
Would anyone be interested ??

I was just going to ask you that question.

I was wondering if you have ever polished just the H2 logo and not the the background areas.

Bright-Lee thats sounds interesting. I would love to see that!

Bright-Lee

One of my customers had his skid plate polished, then he made a
Black vinyl lay-over for the H2. This really makes the letters stand out very well.
He works at a sign company and might be willing to make more of the lay-overs.
They could be available in other colors as well.

I have an in-the-shipping-crate polished aluminum front skid plate. This would be a sweet addition to completing your plished/chromed look.
I have a polished aluminum "H2" front skid plate. Originally priced at about $300. I'll sell and ship you a un-touched new one for $150. Comes with hardware for attachment OVER the stock H2 skid plate. This would be a sweet addition to your shiny rig.

Thanks for the offer Frank, but we have decided not to do our skid plate. If we do in the future we will most likely chrome it.

But thanks anyway http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Question about chrome. Underneath the rear bumper is the metal bumper where there is the tow hitch and tow hooks I want to get the chromed is it best to get it dipped in chrome or what? and how much do you think it will cost?
Also how do they do the interior to look like the outside? is it paint or plastic and how much is it?

Hello Cubby!
I too live in Houston, actually Katy - and recently had a 98 Mitsu Eclipse plow into the rear while my wife was at a dead stop. It looks like it totaled the Mits but NOTHING to my H2 cept a couple dents under the tow rings in the rear skid type bumper. After seeing your chrome I would like to replace the rear plate at least if you could recommend a place here.
Many thanks for the info!
