Gang,

I've put together a video from our last event, Slither-Fest. It was a night-run that we did a couple weeks back.

I'm afraid this video isn't quite upto speed with previous efforts.....the auto-focus, auto-exposure and complete lack of landscape just made video-taping a night-event fairly impractical.

Of all the clips I shot, only one or two came out....and all ya really see is headlights bouncing around on what you must imagine is a rough terrain. The day-stuff came out well and I've put together some cute stuff...mostly starring our very own Buckeye Hummer.

Same routine, when the webpage comes up you will see 3 files to select from on the bottom, the Arrowhead run is still there, but we've got 2 versions of Slitherfest, go for the high-qaulity/larger picture if you can, default to the smaller movie if need be.

And YES, I really did take it upto 100 mph on the lakebed. The video is a compilation of the pre-run, main run and the morning after. Enjoy!

Steve, Awsome video man. Totally understandable that you couldn't put much of the night shots into it. My friends and I have made a few motocross videos and the night shots were always the hardest to get. Looks like it was a lot of fun. My girlfriend and I are thinking about packing up and moving out west in a couple years, Arizona is what we're thinkin. I'd love to go on some of these rides. I'll tote my Banshee on the back of the H2 and I'll race you across the flats http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
Oh yeah and I agree, lots of bandwith. Last time I d/l'ed you video it was real slow, maybe 40k/sec. I just pulled 180.

Thanx for taking the time to let the muddy

of the desert.

Steve,

Great video! And I'd like to say that I prefer the large files. It's far better than watching a grainy looking video.

Thanks Rory, my brother uses a program that exclusively does nothing but compress the files as small as reasonable while sacrificing minimal quality. He offers two choices as computers & connections vary. Glad you enjoyed it. I pieced it together so fast that I haven't even watched it through its entirety. I know I saw one missing transition already.

Chris....do you really think we all won't know it's you with that new avitar???? just kidding. The music...hmmmm..that would be U2's "where the streets have no name" and Tom Petty's "Last Dance with Mary Jane" and "into the great wide open".

Pismo will likely feature a ****load of Beach Boys.

Did I really have to use the term ****load in that last sentence??? Yes...yes I did! It's my weak mind expressing itself. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

You may think this is a bit over the top, but having bought a bunch of CD's for nearly free....I put together about 14 songs (1 hour, 20 minutes) of music for everyone on the run. We all listened to it together while doing the course...very cool. It featured U2, Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, Greatful Dead, The Who, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Kansas & Peter Gabriel...all songs related to the desert-scape & such.

Chris,
You should change your signature line to:
"Simple thoughts for simple minds".
That would fit you perfectly.
