What would you like to see in upcoming H3s? Personally, I would like to see:

1. Sway Bar Disconnect - Ss it possible?
2. Manual T-case with 2wd - I'm old fashioned
3. A snorkel - Not for me, but it would be cool.
4. An SUT version
5. If not, than a soft-top over the rear like the original Humvee.
6. Warn winch low-profile mount that integrates with the bumper.
7. Rear-end marker lights - It gets really foggy here.
8. Front air or electric locker.
9. Rear air vents
10. Electric sliding rear window - It would help in hauling stuff.

That's it for now.

I’d like to see:

1) a fully automatic heating/air conditioning system (I have one on our minivan, it’s great - just set the temp. and let it run the show);

2) a garage door opener on all the models (for the $, its nuts that Hummer only has this for the Lux package);

3) locking gas cap as standard equipment;

4) a trip computer like the H2 has, one that shows your current gas mileage and range;

5) handles on the hood grill (a Hummer just needs those); and

6) electrically folding outside mirrors

Damn I miss that. I had it on a couple of previous vehicles and don't now.

Don't know how much I would use them, but they would be nice.

Coming from a Vette and a Jeep, lack of storage space is something I won't have a problem with. On the Vette, my owner's manual won't fit into the glove box.http://hometown.aol.com/f5fstop01/images/banghead.gif
Won't miss the auto A/C in my Vette either, since I'm always playing with it. I find my Jeep's manual A/C/Heater just as good.http://hometown.aol.com/f5fstop01/images/yesnod.gif
Lay flat rear seats would be nice.
Part time 4-wheel drive would increase city/highway mileage, but as someone else said, it is a Hummer. http://hometown.aol.com/f5fstop01/images/biggrinjester.gif
Diesel would be great, turbo diesel would be fantastic, but I would settle for a small V8 with managed displacement technology. http://hometown.aol.com/f5fstop01/images/thumbsup.gif
One of the new GM 6-speed auto transmissions would be great.
Microwave rear end sensors. I have been told the microwave systems are more accurate in detecting small moving objects (normally called kids, sometimes dogs, could care less about cats)http://hometown.aol.com/f5fstop01/images/yellow%20rolling%20on%20floor%20laughing.gif . Too many idiot parents allowing their young kids to run in parking lots. http://hometown.aol.com/f5fstop01/images/crazy.gif
Larger tire options.
Higher wattage off road lights (minimum 100 watts each), that would attach to one of the cross bars (similar to that offered on the H2). Take 'em off when not in use.
Air suspension similar to the H2.
Body color grill.
Body color mirrors.
Body color handles.
Body color, lockable fuel cap cover.
Body color front/rear bumpers.
Use of a common headlamp bulb so I can replace the worthless ones from the factory with Silverstars, or better yet, HID.

At least 300HP, bigger tire option, grill and tail light guards, on board air compressor, roof basket GOBI style, a no carpet option, bullet proof windshield ( I seem to be rough on them ) and maybe an OD green color option.

Having an idea where you work would something like a 4.8 L with DOD be what you are talking about. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Some of the things I've seen listed are great, but I see not a whole lot of mechanicals, just a lot of convenience. The convenience comes from marketers who review sales of vehicles and come up with what they interpret to be wanted items.
Convenience for me: electric items to operate without key in run mode ie windows up/down, fully automatic window/sunroof closure when rain detected (didn't Rover have this at one point?), full operation from both front doors, dual sun roofs, sunroof fabric option, wash out interior, cruise on even after car is turned off (on once restarted), slightly larger door windows, 3 row seats, swing out/roll down rear side windows, and night trail lights underneath.

For the mechanicals: manual locker up front, more R&P choices, manual hubs on front axle, full float rear axle (w/manual hubs), front cv axles with flanges (for quick replacement if necessary), air bag suspenion, on-board air & tank to work suspension, tire pressures and air tools, larger tires, swing tire carrier w/ hi-lift/shovel, up/down rear window, better gas tank location, on-board welder (http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif), and self-diagnostic computer port/chip modifiable for DIY owner among them few more....

For lifts, there is not much you can do with the IFS/torsion bar. The biggest constraint is the operational angles on the cv's and the steering tie rods. You could drop the front axle housing, rehang it and then drop the same distance on the a-arm and this will keep the axles same, however, not the steering rack and pinion. You'll either have to lower that also or have to flip the tie rod end on the knuckle, or have a custom knuckle like other aftermarket manu's have for other IFS vehicles. Then there is the torsion bars, but reconfigured control arms can be designed to incorporate a spring strut eliminating the torsion bar altogether. Thus you will have better breakover angle. Then concern would be on the brake and sensor lines.

Forgot to add a split stick for the t-case, an auxiliary case between tranny and t-case, and

......make mine a full convertible with a slant rear configuration..........

I am thinking of something like a 5.3L with DOD control. However, there are many other small V8s or even V6 engines that I believe would fit. I can say this, the engine compartment with the existing I5 is quite tight for some repairs. If the front end was about six to eight inches longer, the 275 hp I6 would have fit, but that might have ruined the looks.
Personally, I have driven quite a few H3s, and I'm not worried about the power as it exists.

DOD????

Drive On Demand??

Hummer's, to me, are not the type of vehicles designed to accelerate as such those racy-type vehicles. It's a truck, trucks need torque. I'm just glad it's got enough engine in it now....more is nothing to complain to, but I've driven other gas engined vehicles where the optional engine is still the dog....

Not to bring back bad memories, anyone remember the mid 70's, when engines lost all power.

jaguar, I don't think solid axles will ever be an option. Unfortunately, the general public wants a smoother ride. I bet someone will do it in the future though. I think the Revolvers would be awesome. I think manual hubs and full-floaters would be cool aftermarket goodies. A 1" body lift would be cool too.
