Does the factory stereo w/ Monsoon audio have an RCA input jack for an iPod? If I recall correctly, there is an RCA input only accessible from the rear of the stereo.

I am gonna spend the next hour or so trying to figure that out. Would it just be a regular input jack or would I need an adapter if I want to hook up the ipod?

That is my number one goal right now, finding a way to do it. There is not a way right now on the factory stereo that I know of.

Go to soundgate.com and get the GMAUX, it lets you install an Aux In on your factory stereo. If you get the AUX 3 you can hook up even more Stuff, dvd, playstation, etc...

I already ordered one of each, they arrived in two days. They're pretty easy to install and they work great, much better than an FM Modulator.

Does anyone know whether Soundgate ships to Europe? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif
does anyone know if this will fit H3?
Has anyone installed this yet? Is this the only kit necessary to hook up my Ipod to my stereo?

Check out Peripheral, Blitz safe, and usa spec--they all have ipod adaptors that will interface with the oem radio. Make sure to get the lastest firmware on your ipod as the interfaces are only designed for the most recent software and won't funciton properly wihtout http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Hey Kodiakz, id love to see your rig, put some pics up! thanks for your help.

I called Soundgate, they say that it will fit the H3 with no problems. They're more than helpful if you have any questions, give 'em a shout:

I called soundgate and the guy said, "We don't have anything for the H3"

That's too funny! The guy I spoke to was very up to date on the H3.

I just emailed Soudgate and they said that the SDSGM2 will also fit the H3. This model has 2 inputs.

here's one from eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2003-2006-Hummer-H2-H3-SUT-iPod-Int...QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem (http://cgi.ebay.com/2003-2006-Hummer-H2-H3-SUT-iPod-Interface-NO-CD-Changer_W0QQitemZ5825782190QQcategoryZ48680QQrdZ1Q QcmdZViewItem)
That ebay listing says you must have a disc or aux button for it to work... we have a disc button... does this mean if we hook this up then the cd player will be disabled and this will be in place of it?

When I get around to it I will be ordering the Soundgate SDSGM2 since they said that it will work with my stereo. I have the 6-disc Monsoon system with XM.

I'm getting an aftermarket mp3 player (Dension DMP3) professionally installed tomorrow. It's not an iPod but it's the same concept. I'll let you guys know what aux adapter the installer used and I'll try to post a pic of my setup.
