The H3 i just bought has the chrome package and i'm not a big fan... but it had all the other options that i wanted. Is there a way to swap the chrome parts for their black counterparts? Anyone who wants the chrome package want to swap if it IS in fact possible to do? I'm assuming it should be rather easy, but who knows.

I wanted it initially I settled w/o it b/c of the shortage of avail H3's last fall. I don't think it would be easy to switch the mirrors and door handles or I would swap you.

I've got the chrome package too, but when I get my roof rack I will change all my door handles and mirrors to black.

You can buy all stock oem black parts online, then sell your chrome pieces on the ebay or something.

has anyone here actually changed the door handles?? It seems like it may be pretty involved.

I have changed them out a couple of times. It's pretty tough if you don't know what you're doing. You have to take apart the doors (including taking the windows out). I can do all five handles and both mirrors in probably 2.5 hours after having done it a couple of times. It really helps to have another person also.

hmmm, i'm pretty good with a wrench around cars, but taking apart the doors/windows doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun... we'll see how it goes. btw, for those that asked, i'm in North Lake Tahoe. Near Reno.
Oh, aggie, any instructions for doing this?

It'd be almost impossible for me to do without pictures. We're going to take apart an H3 in the next couple of days to paint, so I'll see if I can grab some pictures then.
